Creative is certainly out to wrest some market share from Apple, and hopefully their September 17th event won’t disappoint. The darkened images depict an X-Fi logo along with the “I am heard everywhere” slogan. Do you think this is the new all-in-one device patent that we saw just a couple of days ago? If not, what do you think this new-fangled device is?

There’s nothing like a hands-on to get a good feel for a device. You might have seen the HTC touch pro in product photos and I’ll tell you what, it looks nice there and in the real world, but our photo gallery shows you what it will likely look like when it comes out of your pocket. It’s impossible not to be amazed by the display, although it’s not the highest resolution one out there. It feels good in the hand and is smaller than most people would think when they see the product photo. HTC did a good job with the industrial design, but also with the software customization that sit on top of Windows Mobile, making it more finger-friendly. The only weak point that I find is the QWERTY keyboard. The keys don’t provide a good feel when you type (this is my personal opinion, obviously), they felt a little “mushy”. Other than that, it’s an impressive device with all the features that one can possibly cram into such a small space. Search HTC Touch Pro stories. You might be interested by the HTC S740 too.

T-Mobile decided that the world is boring in black and white, and hence has launched its BlackBerry 8120 in three more colors come October 15th. These new colors to grace the market are Frost, Black Emerald and Indigo - I sure wish for the good old days where colors did not have some fancy names attached to them and is easily understandable at a glance. Other than the change in colors, everything else about the BlackBerry 8120 remains the same.

It can get pretty tricky trying to classify the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 - it falls somewhere in the middle of an SLR and a point-and-shoot. This is the first Micro Four Thirds camera from Panasonic, and for the uninitiated, Four Third cameras enable manufacturers to develop interoperable exchangeable lenses. The DMC-G1 is touted to be the smallest and lightest of such cameras, but do expect this record to be broken not too long after. Shipping this November with a Lumix G Vario 14-45mm/F3.5- 5.6 ASPH/MEGA O.I.S lens, other features on the DMC-G1 include a 12.1 megapixel sensor, a 3″ LCD display and face detection among others.

Concept phones are all fine and dandy, but here’s something that will really catch your attention - the Nokia BMW Video Phone concept. With the brand name of BMW attached to the concept, you can expect nothing but the best without compromising on its looks and styling cues. Of course, the price is going to be stratospheric as well, placing it well out of reach from the working class. Best of all is, this concept handset features a “push to open” mechanism that enables the owner to rotate the cellphone 90 degrees to activate the camcorder function. Other features include GPS navigation to help you get around. Hopefully there will be little or no high maintenance costs that BMW vehicles are famous for.

Toasting bread is a pretty boring affair, but at least with the Scan Toaster concept you will be able to inject some sort of fun into your breakfast sessions. This toaster must be connected to a computer via USB, downloading various information like local weather conditions, news headlines and the current time. Within the toaster lies a network of toasting “modules” that are heated individually by a hot wire. Each module has a 30° degree of movement and will align themselves accordingly to what you want to see on your toast - be it images or text. Would be nice to propose to your girlfriend via breakfast, but hopefully she’ll be alert enough to read it before biting into that ham-and-cheese sandwich.

Microsoft has followed up its Xbox 360 price drop by reducing the price of its hard drives as well, hitting new lows of $149 compared to the previous $179 figure for the 120GB model. According to Microsoft, “We reduced the price of the Xbox 360 120 GB Hard Drive to $149 in conjunction with the recent Xbox 360 console price drop. We believe this offers consumers even greater value when selecting accessories that meet their individual gaming and entertainment needs.” Will this new price point make you open up your wallets and bring one of these puppies home?

Guess it didn’t take too long for the recently released iPod touch firmware 2.1 to get jailbroken, thanks to the folks at QuickPwn. The whole process is much more complicated compared to the GUI one-click method that was employed in the past, but then again you won’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. The development team is quick to point out that this isn’t an official release though, so proceed at your own risk.

Asus’ latest chassis, the TA-M1 was specially designed for thermal efficiency as well as ease of use, capable of holding a front-mounted fan with another in the rear and a couple more on both sides. The side-mounted fans have the added advantage of being attached to a movable plate, allowing them to slide around for easy adjustment where you want it to be. All front, top and side panels are constructed from an all-mesh design for maximum ventilation. Sounds like a suitable chassis for gamers who want nothing but the best where gaming experience is concerned. In addition, you also get a quartet of external 5.25″ optical drive bays and four 3.5″ floppy disk drive bays which are attached using a screwless design.
