Google may deliver Android on a HTC / T-Mobile device as early as October, living up to its promise. The confirmation on the recent buzz comes from the New York Times, reporting from “people briefed on the company’s plans”. According to the NYT, Google, HTC and T-Mobile plan to announce the device, nicknamed the “Dream”, in September; but the exact launch date is still unknown and depends on the FCC approval.
You can check out the video of the HTC dream posted a few days ago on Youtube and the images from the demo at the Google I/O conference. The device has a large screen like the iPhone but with a full sliding keyboard, some are touting it as the iPhone killer, the large screen with full keyboard and the openness of the platform may be a start, but we need to see it to be sure.

Kanfuboi - a play on the words Kung-fu Boy, consists of two desktop toys that are able to punch and kick their way through virtually anything. All you need to do is turn them on, and they’ll start whipping themselves into a frenzy, punching and kicking at imaginary opponents. Of course, they won’t suffer from any muscle fatigue, pausing only when there is no more power supplied. At $18 a pop, they’re pretty interesting desktop toys to have, although it might cost a wee bit more if you plan to import them from Japan.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes there are jealous people who walk by a spanking new sports car only to vent their feelings in a negative manner by leaving a nice, long scratch on the shiny paintwork. With the Car Camera, it won’t stop this from happening but at least it is able to record the wrongdoing and used “for legal or insurance purpose” at a later point in time. The Car Camera is able to take in SD memory cards up to 2GB in size, where the recorded file will be saved into the memory card automatically. You can view the recorded video on a PC or TV through the AV cable. The camera can also be mounted inside the vehicle thanks to a couple of sticky pads, but it won’t be of much use should somebody decide to permanently borrow your car!

Our friends from Aving have spotted a 7-inch GPS called Easycar U7 which reportedly costs only $100. It has being presented as a low-end navigation system, but it seems to have a very decent resolution (looks like 680×480, see photo gallery) and has many of the multimedia functions including digital TV , video and music playback, so it’s a really cheap portable media player (PMP) as well. The question is: where do we get them (outside of Korea)?

Shows are usually a good time for announcement like price cuts, but Leipzig (Aug 20-22) won’t be the place where Sony will announce a welcome price cut. It’s not going to happen. If you’re coming for that you’ll be disappointed (Nick Caplin, Sony Computer Entertainment)Too bad for the fans, but Sony is confident that it will reach the 10 million unit sold target with its current pricing policy.

Here is a new e-book with some appealing features that the Kindle does not offer: the Ectaco jetBook allows readers to use, search and have dictionaries in multiple languages. The interface is available in English, Russian and Polish, with built-in translation dictionaries for this three languages. It does not use E-ink but instead has a 5-inch TFT VGA reflective monochrome screen which helps with low light reading (but supposedly consumes more power). For more features comparison with the Kindle check out Ectaco’s comparison page. The absence of a wireless connection is the downside of the jetBook, meaning users cannot access their RSS feed, unlike the Kindle which runs on EVDO. ECTACO is fully compatible with both Mac and Windows PCs and retails for $349.95

The Crystal USB desktop speakers yo usee here are extremely portable, and are touted to be the smallest performance stereo USB speakers available for the desktop and notebook. Don’t expect bass thumping audio from this with a 1 watt per channel rating, but at the very least they’ll look good sitting on your desk. Powered completely via USB, the speakers were acoustically engineered to direct sound waves towards an adjacent chamber. They will retail for $39.99.

A posséder impérativement. Elle coûte 39.98$ et est alimentée par trois piles AAA.

It’s not that I go camp a lot, but I thought that this might be useful to someone who does. There’s no risk of running out of battery, instead, it has been replaced with the certainty of boredom while cranking this thing until it has charged enough for a shaving session (8 hours for a full charge). Here are the charging specifications from the manufacturer, I personally don’t trust them, but it’s a start. Has anyone tried something like this? Post a comment.
