iPhone 3G Taken Apart

iPhone 3G taken apart

iFixit took apart their iPhone 3G immedietly after the iPhone launch (it’s Friday in New Zealand). Among other things during the disasembly, iFixit found that the battery was not soldered on, as well as the LCD and glass covering of the display was not glued together like the first iPhone. For the full details on the disassembly, head over to iFixit’s site. Which makes it a “somewhat” replaceable battery, I guess…

Trek Stop Bike Parts Vending Machine

Bike Vending Machines

You can buy nearly everything from a vending machine, what do you think about buying bike parts from a vender? In Madison, Wisconsin, you can do just that. The vending machine is called Trek Stop, among the things you can obtain through the machine would be patch kits, water bottle, energy bar, chain lube as well as items used for minor repairs like bike tire inner tubes, air hose, maps message board, bike standand a kiosk with video instructions on how to do various repairs. It also has an air pump for you to pump your tires. The concept is a good one if it wasn’t situated in front of a bike shop. It would be better situated in places where bike shop can’t afford to rent as it will help its business as well as any cyclist in the area.

Sidekick 2008 Announced

Sidekick 2008 Announced

If the Sidekick 2008 looks very familiar to you, that’s because it was originally known as the Sidekick Gekko. Well guess what - it is named after the release year, something that reminds you of your gadget’s age each time you pull it out in 2020. Since the photo of the Sidekick 2008 is extremely blurry, you can be sure this is an authentic leaked image, probably taken by an underpaid employee (hence the poor quality camera on the phone) who is extremely nervous to capture a crystal clear shot.

Home Typist Program

Home Typist Program

The Home Typist program is freeware, and it adds the sounds of a typewriter to your computer keyboard just in case you get a little nostalgic of the days when you had a head full of hair instead of a shining bald plate now, while flared jeans were all the rage and typewriters ruled the office. Perfect way to add that retro feel to the office, although I would say that your colleagues won’t be too amused. You yourself will probably get sick of all the typing sounds after a while, making this a temporary program on your computer at best.

Floating Heart Photo Frame

Floating Heart Photo Frame

Get this for your other half, but make sure your heart does not float away to any person other than the one in the photo. Featuring a new anti-gravity design, this heart levitates in the middle of the air as if by pixie magic, but it actually boils down to (rocket) science. The heart will be able to rotate on the spot slowly for some added effect, and would make for the perfect present anytime, never mind Valentine’s Day. The Floating Heart Photo Frame can be yours for $40.
