Yes, Asus has finally decided to release a variant of its Eee PC 904 that comes with a hard drive instead of SSD. This new model will hit the UK within a matter of weeks, and good thing it will remain at the bottom of the list when it comes to pricing. The Eee PC 904 HD shares a similar chassis with the 1001, utilizing an 8.9″ display and a full size keyboard. No idea on how large the hard drive will be, but this won’t be as shock-resistant as before where data integrity is concerned, but at least you can store a whole lot more compared to just 12GB.

Summers and BBQs go together, which is why the Carry and Go Briefcase BBQ is such as adorable device to have. For £24.95, you will be able to tote your BBQ grill easily without having to go through too much hassle, and when open, it will be able to expand up to 48cm x 35cm which should be more than enough to flip burgers for a small family. Better make sure it is well cleaned before being carried home as whatever juices and sauces still left inside might seep out and ruin your car or suit.

Everex’s Cloudbook range now comes with WiMAX connectivity, never mind that the service has not fully rolled out yet. This will only be available on the 8.9″ machines, ruling the 10.2″ model out of the equation. The WiMAX-enabled Cloudbooks will hit Taiwan and Japan at the end of August, while those of us living Stateside will only be able to run our fingers over it this September. No idea on whether these machines will be manufactured by FIC or powered by VIA’s OpenBook reference design, so stay tuned.

If you’re afraid of key loggers taking over your precious World of Warcraft account, why not insure yourself against that dastardly deed with the Blizzard Authenticator? Retailing for just $6.50, you log in using the Blizzard Authenticator, and the device will give you a randomly generated, one-time use password to go along with your regular password. Every time you log in, the password generated will be different, making it a whole lot harder for anyone to get your hoard of gold the easy way.

Toshiba might still be smarting from the demise of its HD DVD format in the war with Blu-ray, but they ain’t throwing in the towel just yet. The company has just approved the DVD Download/DL logo, which means they will be working on cheaper DVD players that focus more on enhanced image scaling capabilities. No idea on how this technology will work, but many pundits believe that it will be based on the company’s SpursEngine 1000 processor that is able to deliver higher quality video scaling compared to what DVD players offer today. How do you think this will affect Blu-ray sales? Are they jostling for the same market?

I knew it was a matter of time before those age-verification cameras on cigarette vending machines were fooled, and I’m not wrong. A reporter used a 15cm wide magazine photo of an elderly person in front of the camera, and the machine gave the green light - I wonder what can the authorities do in order to prevent something like this from happening in the future? Why can’t they use an ID card or an equivalent which is only available to folks above 18 - wait, kids can just swipe their dad’s cards and get away scot-free with that. Well, there are no fool-proof methods, but which do you think is the most effective?

The i2i Stream from Thanko is an MP3 streaming device that allows you to share your music with other friends within a 10 meter radius. All you need to do is hook up your portable audio player into the i2i Stream and you’re good to go. The i2i Stream features a frequency response of 10Hz-24,000Hz, a bit-rate of 16bit at 48kbps stereo and an audio latency of 20ms which should be reasonable enough for casual listening unless you’re a discerning audiophile. Even so, what are you doing with the MP3 standard? The Thanko i2i Stream will retail for approximately €89.

Mobile charging stations from Samsung will be added at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, offering weary travelers and their battered gadgets a chance to recharge, including ports and tips for cell phones, laptops and other gadgets. There will be a total of 22 of such stations installed at the MSP in time for the July 4th weekend where more people will travel than usual. How I wish other airports could offer a similar convenience.
