MSI ECOlution Motherboard

MSI ECOlution Motherboard

Everyone knows that computer motherboards tend to generate a whole lot of heat, so why not harness all the heat generated to push coolers which will then keep the system cool for better performance? This sounds like a novel idea, where MSI has come up with the ECOlution motherboard in order to harness the power of heat, transforming it into kinetic energy that will then power the chipset’s cooler. I guess this is a pretty automatic solution, because when the motherboard is cooled down enough, the cooler won’t have any more kinetic energy from heat and stop functioning until it is hot enough inside again. Hopefully the accessory on the motherboard won’t generate too much noise.

USB Parrot A Hoot

USB Parrot A Hoot

Say you’ve always wanted a parrot but could not be bothered to take proper care of it - here’s a solution staring right at you in the face. Thanks to the wonders of a USB port, this USB Parrot is capable of speaking up a bunch of random phrases which are picked up in passing whenever a certain phrase is repeated often enough. Those wings aren’t just for show, they are mechanical in order to add to the reality. All you need to do is plug in the USB Parrot and you’re good to go. This nifty little gadget retails for approximately $39 and will probably get too irritating after a while that you might force it to walk the plank.

Considering how long the iPhone has been out it’s a wonder no one has filmed this before. I know there are plenty of people out there just like this guy with absolutely nothing better to do. So here’s what happens when your iPhone stopwatch runs for over 41 days and then runs out of numbers on the screen to display the time. This clip would have been twice as cool (or more) had the phone exploded, or sprouted arms and strangled the guy for wasting his time, but alas, no such excitement. Just a 1 and a lot of zeros.

Self-cleaning Windshields

Self-cleaning Windshields

The Hidra concept car from Pininfarina automotive designer Leonardo Fioravanti will feature a windshield that repels both water and dirt, hence eliminating the need for wipers. This windshield was developed using nanotechnology, featuring a quartet of layers to help it do its job. The top layer is made out of titanium oxide that repels water quickly, while the second layer pushes dirt off to its sides, keeping the windshield clean. There is a sensor located in the third layer, while the fourth layer is powered by electricity to run the show. I say, won’t it be pretty sucky if somebody breaks your windshield to get to that GPS system inside? It’d be a shame, since the replacement will probably cost you an arm, a leg and a kidney.
