Emtrace Photoskins
January 6th, 2008
[CES 2008] While we’ve seen our fair share of digital photo frames, none of them are slim enough to slip right into your wallet. The Photoskins from Emtrace is capable of this feat, measuring a mere 4.7mm in thickness. It downloads photos from a PC via USB (I still wonder why they decide to use USB 1.1 as the connection standard of choice when everyone else has long moved over to USB 2.0), and can even hook up to the Internet to do so. So far, it seems to work great with photo sharing communities such as Flickr, Picasa, or Webshots. Available widgets include Stocks, Comics, Horoscopes and News among others. The Emtrace Photoskins won’t be available until sometime in Q2 2008.
