CarCapsule provides protection for your ride

CarCapsule provides protection for your rideKeeping your new car in pristine condition can be quite a challenge, especially when you park anywhere else but the relative safety of your garage. The CarCapsule targets the paranoid, being made out of super-tough, 10 mil PVC that features anti-static and flame retardant capability. In addition, it is impervious to oil, gas and antifreeze (but not bullets). It comes with a built-in fan to inflate the dome and prevents it from touching the vehicle. You can choose from 8-foot and 22-foot versions that retail for $270 and $420 respectively.

PSP gets solar-powered battery

PSP gets solar-powered batteryWith everyone taking on a green stance lately, it is little wonder that Sony’s PSP has received a solar-powered battery to help you keep on gaming long after your handheld’s battery has run out of natural juice. As everyone knows, the PSP doesn’t exactly have a long lasting battery (when compared against the DS Lite anyway), so this nifty little device sounds practical, even more so in places where the power outlets are different since we all use the same sun across the planet. There is no word on the performance of this solar-powered PSP battery, but we do know that it retails for under $30.

Ladybug speaker is no cutie

Ladybug speaker is no cutie[CES 2008] The Ladybug speaker you see here certainly won’t win any points with those looking for something cute in the market. This iPod speaker is the result of a collaboration between Vestalife and Element Skateboards, resulting in a limited edition version that boasts a bright white skull imprinted on its black and chrome surface. The Vestalife Ladybug comes with a couple of 1.5″ tweeters that fold over your iPod’s surface, and looks like a pretty decent conversation starter by any means. Behind the Ladybug lies a solitary 3″ subwoofer, an auxiliary input, USB port, AV output, and an external power jack. There is no word on pricing on the Vestalife Ladybug which is compatible with all universal-dock iPod models. [Product Page]

Shogo digital photo frame

Shogo digital photo frame What makes one digital photo frame different from another? Well, other than the size, they’re pretty much all the same, or are they? Shogo’s 8″ digital photo frame is different from the rest since it comes with both WiFi connectivity (a must-have feature for today) and touchscreen capability (a must-have feature for tomorrow, perhaps?). Dubbed the SG 080, you get 1GB of internal storage along with a 800 x 600 resolution panel, a multi-memory card reader and an integrated rechargeable battery. ShogoLive users will be able to transfer photos from popular online image portals such as Flickr and Picasa, view RSS feeds as well as stream Internet radio. There is no word on pricing, although word on the street has it that these delectable frames from Shogo will hit retail stores pretty soon.

Wireless HD or WiHD Launched

Wireless HD or WiHD Launched

While some form of wireless HD video has been demonstrated before, a group of heavy weight consumer electronics companies have partnered to build what they hope is the next wireless HD video standard. At the moment, Wireless HD 1.0 can reach 4Gbps, which seems enough to accommodate 1080p videos. We’ll take a closer look on the products that will be announced at CES.

The partnering companies are: Intel, LG, Matsushita, Panasonic, NEC, SAMSUNG, SiBEAM, Sony and Toshiba. That’s a good chunk of the display market right there. I wonder how soon this will extend to computer displays as well… Press release, Tech overview

LG KF600 heads for China

LG KF600 heads for ChinaIf you think the LG KF600 looks familiar in terms of navigation and user interface, that’s because it uses the same interactive touchpad technology found on the LG Venus. This China-bound handset features dual screen displays, where the bottom segment is called InteractPad which can be programmed to accomodate device modes with the specific controls you require. For instance, it functions as intuitive media controls for audio playback, a scroll wheel for long lists, a zoom dial whenever you want to snap images with its 3 megapixel camera, and even provide extra input keys whenever you want to compose a text message. The LG KF600 also comes with GPRS and EDGE connectivity (what, no 3G? That’s a travesty by today’s standards), a 240 × 320 QVGA main display, Bluetooth and USB 2.0 connectivity. No word on pricing in China though. [Photo Gallery]

Fujifilm rolls out FinePix Z100fd

Fujifilm rolls out FinePix Z100fdFujifilm will be replacing its FinePix Z5fd with the FinePix Z100fd, and this new ultra-compact trendsetter will come in a quartet of color combinations for those who want a fun and sassy compact digital camera which shoots pretty decent images (by casual standards anyway). The FinePix Z100fd measures 19.8mm thin and packs in 8 megapixels of goodness - the minimum standard these days. Since a higher megapixel count isn’t always better for the compact digital camera segment, it is the extra features that make or break a camera in this class. Let’s take a look at what the FinePix Z100fd has on offer. 2.7″ 230k pixel LCD scratch-free glass displaySensitivity settings of up to ISO 1600Dual Image StabilizationFace Detection Technology (up to 10 faces per scene)Automatic Red Eye RemovalBlog Mode for easy uploadingPhoto Folder Managementi-Flash Intelligent FlashDual Shot ModeAn SD/SDHC memory card slotThe FinePix Z100fd will hit the market this January for $249.95.

QWERTY Nokia N-Series?

QWERTY Nokia N-Series?

Rumor: BGS says that it has a scoop about an upcoming full-QWERTY Nokia N-Series. As smart as the N-Series phones are, it’s true that they could use a QWERTY keyboard, at least on a few models. Now imagine an N-Series phone with the nice camera/camcorder, sexy body and other features that we got used to with a full, QWERTY keyboard. Sounds nice huh?

So far, BGR firmly believes that it will have DVD-quality recording, a 5 or 6 Megapixel camera with auto-focus and a GPS.
