Sony goes Penryn
December 31st, 2007
Sony does not want to be left behind the Penryn bandwagon and has announced that they are preparing to launch Penryn-based notebooks sometime down the road. These new VAIOs are known by their AR7, FZ4, and SZ7 model numbers, boasting Intel’s new Core 2 Duo mobile processor that were manufactured using the 45nm process. Coupled with the Santa Rosa Refresh platform, you get a (theoretically) slightly longer battery life - great for road warriors who cannot bank on the existence of a power outlet wherever they go. No word on pricing and availability of these new notebooks.
