Gen-X Dual Station console

Gen-X Dual Station console

The Gen-X Dual Station console is a hybrid device that allows you to enjoy the best of both 8- and 16-bit video games, particularly titles on the NES and Sega Genesis platforms. You get a couple of slots that support original cartridges from either system, including Japanese titles. Great for those who have a huge collection of carts but have no idea where to put them. Each $36.89 purchase comes with a pair of controllers and A/V cables. I sometimes wonder why you would want to pick something like this up since the Wii’s Virtual Console is capable of handling games from both the NES and Sega Genesis platforms among numerous others. Of course, if you can’t wait for Nintendo to officially release the titles on either consoles that you really want to play, the Gen-X Dual Station acts as a temporary stop-gap measure.

United States X900 PMP

United States X900 PMP

Strange to see a portable media player named after a country, but that’s exactly what Gemei calls its latest offering - the United States X900. This PMP comes with a 4.3″ 480 x 272 TFT display, featuring support for MPEG4, MP3, WMA and FLAC formats. What separates this from the pack would be an attachable game pad features a couple of thumb-operated joysticks, fitting the X900 subtly like a second skin. The ADI chip within is capable of running gaming classics from the NES and Sega MegaDrive era. Other features include an SD memory card slot (maximum of 4GB), e-book support, an integrated FM tuner and the option to add on a GPS module. No idea on how much this rockin’ PMP costs though.

Messenger Speaker Bags

Messenger Speaker Bags The Messenger Speaker Bags might look as though they are more suitable for the fairer sex, but underneath the rather feminine exterior lies a bunch of gadget-centric functions. Each bag comes with integrated controls courtesy of Elektex Smart Fabric icons located on the shoulder straps, enabling users to control volume, select tracks and even pause music on-the-fly without fidgeting with the audio device stored within. You also get NXT speakers located right under its flap, letting you share your mind numbing tunes with everyone else on the tube. Asus Eee PC gets accessorized

Asus Eee PC gets accessorized I guess it was just a matter of time before the hugely popular Asus Eee PC gets its fair share of accessories, and this time on an official basis. The range includes a mouse, a headset, a travel adapter and a battery extension pack for frequent travelers. You will be able to choose from a variety of colors where the mouse and headset are concerned, but the travel adapter and battery pack comes only in white - which isn’t too bad when you think about it since the Eee PC itself looks best in white. There is no word on pricing or availability, but these ought to make it to the market sometime early next year (which starts tomorrow, btw).

Sony goes Penryn

Sony goes Penryn Sony does not want to be left behind the Penryn bandwagon and has announced that they are preparing to launch Penryn-based notebooks sometime down the road. These new VAIOs are known by their AR7, FZ4, and SZ7 model numbers, boasting Intel’s new Core 2 Duo mobile processor that were manufactured using the 45nm process. Coupled with the Santa Rosa Refresh platform, you get a (theoretically) slightly longer battery life - great for road warriors who cannot bank on the existence of a power outlet wherever they go. No word on pricing and availability of these new notebooks.
