I’m sure you fondly remember those days as a kid in the arcade saying to yourself, “If only I had a keg of beer to drink” - well now you can! The Gamerator video game console features classic video games in a traditional full size gaming console - with the added benefit of a beer tap right on the front. It comes with over 150 licensed classic arcade games, a 26 inch flat-panel HDTV, refrigerated interior with room for a pony keg, and of course two cup holders. It’s no Russian video game, but it’s still pretty cool. $3,995 at www.thegamerator.com

According to Digitimes, Hasee, a Chinese computer maker is going to launch the Q540X, a laptop that Hasee thinks can compete with the Asus Eee, because it is more powerful and bigger, for the same price.
Q540X Specs
13.3” Display Intel Celeron 540 80GB Hard drive 2.19kg (4.8lbs) Price: $405
It is interesting, but I don’t think that the Asus Eee because it is powerful, or cheap. It is not particularly cheap, if you look at its specifications. The Asus Eee is a blockbuster because it is small, light at a reasonable price. Anyone browsing the web can find a larger laptop at a comparable price, but try to find a 2 pounds laptop for $400… More photos in the full post.

Designer Jason Roebuck came out with this delicious idea: Each member of a family could have their own Apple remote (with a slightly different color) that reacts to gestures: A left or right rotation could change the volume. And most importantly, they would look good on your coffee table! Yes!
That said: how do I zap to channel 70? Or How do I switch to “HDMI Input” to play with my next-gen console? Well, I guess that for that, I could still use the *old* remote…

That’s according to Nokia’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Tero Ojanpera in a Reuters interview.
First, Tero Ojanpera needs to define what he means by “HD” - Is it 720p*, 1080p* or something else? It is safe to assume that phones will eventually be powerful enough and have enough storage to capture and store HD movies, even 1080p ones. Not only the question is “when” but most importantly “at which level of quality?”.
Just like for still photos, it is just impossible that a camera-phone can rival a D-SLR camera, simply because of the difference in size of their lenses. Bigger lens = more information = better picture. There’s little that computing power can do to help solve this.
*720p = 1280×720 pixels, *1080p = 1920×1080 pixels

Google has a new version of the homepage for iPhone users. Now there is a menu that provides access to Gmail, Calendar, Reader and other Google services. At the moment, only iPhone users will benefit from this change, but in the future, it’s likely that any device that has the same resolution and a decent browser will work with this new mobile homepage as well.
For users, there’s nothing special to do, just go to google.com, as usual.

The Heat-Sensitive Coffee Mug from Charles and Marie is a pretty novel idea - when empty and cold, the mug will feature the word “OFF” on the front, while filling it up with a hot beverage of your choice to start off your mornings at the office will see it change color and word, with “OFF” turning to “ON” for obvious reasons. I suppose instead of splashing out $25 for this Heat-Sensitive Coffee Mug, you could always take the extra effort to see whether there is any steam rising from your drink - if the answer is in the affirmative, you’ll probably scald your tongue.

Looks like the BlackBerry Connect software for the Motorola Q9 is now official and legitimate, so you can start working on those messaging marathons with your Q9. Which will last longer - your fingers of the Q9’s keypad? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure - users are now free to setup BIS or BES or even both on the Q9.

Altec Lansing has launched the M604 Zune Speaker Dock that claims to bring room-filling power and deep bass, and you can now pick it up for a mere $45 (including shipping) from Woot. This is but a fraction of the original $199.95 price, so you can be pretty sure that the value you get out of your 45 clams are well worth it. Not only does the M604 charge the Zune, it can also be hooked up to your TV via a video-out port and is compatible with other MP3 players courtesy of its line-in jack.

This is fast - both the iPhone and iPod touch have already attained a 0.1% (0.09% and 0.01% respectively) share of browser usage since their release. While that amount might not seem like much, it has already edged out Microsoft’s Windows CE platform that currently holds a 0.06% share of the market, a pitiful amount considering Windows CE devices have been circulating since 1996. Granted, mobile Internet really took only until recently, but there are still millions of Windows Mobile devices out there.
