Remember the Funstation 3 that we covered a while back? Well ShenZen LinFeng Electronics is certainly daring enough to produce even more cloned consoles (in terms of design anyway) that imitate all three generations of the PlayStation, the original big, black Xbox and even the archaic Sega Saturn! Wholesale prices retail for approximately $3 a pop, and you can be sure the only games they can play are 8-bit classics, and pirated ones at that. Is anyone going to do something about such rampant intellectual property theft?

The Sputnik 12S hanging speaker might not have been to space before, but this 12″ passive subwoofer is capable of filling up a different kind of space with thumping audio. Capable of handling 1,000 watts of continuous power, you can choose to hang it from your ceiling like a bauble or rest it on a leather pad. The Sputnik 12S was designed to target bars and restaurants, hence its suspension design. For another out-of-this-world speaker, there is the Venus suspended loudspeaker that houses a woofer and tweeter within its orb form factor.

Holly of Coolest Gadgets has taken out the LG KU990 Viewty on a spin, and here are some excerpts.
It’s a slim and good looking and doesn’t feel plasticky. I found messaging slightly easier then on my usual phone – being able to swap swiftly from predictive text to alphabetical to numerical. There is also a clever little handwriting entry feature using the small extendable stylus, but disappointingly this led to errors in recognition and was slower than texting via the keypad. You can also text using a QWERTY keyboard if you wish. The web browser is easy to use and allows you to see full web pages and then to zoom. Battery life can be short if you find yourself playing with all the features – if using the camera on a day or night out, browsing the web and viewing images you will need your charger every couple of days. In all, the KU990 is easy to get going with but with lots to keep the most active of minds busy.
Are you rocking with a Viewty yet? What are your views on it?

This Aleutia E1 ultra-low power PC runs Linux and uses only 8 Watts, so it could even be powered by a solar panel. It’s nice to be small, but once you add the keyboard, display, power-brick or solar panel, it becomes quite a setup. Obviously, the 8W power consumption if of course the The unique feature. Creative can claim the crown for the highest flash-based capacity for MP3 players, thanks to its spanking new 32GB Zen. In case 32GB isn’t enough, there’s an SD card slot (not SDHC) to add a few more gigabytes (GB) in there.
Other than the storage capacity it is very much like the previous Zen players. It is credit-card sized (except for the thickness!), weighs 2.1oz and has a 320×240 pixels display. It can also play Mped4-SP, DivX 4 and xVid videos. Product page

This is one of the more unique budget speakers that I have come across in a long time - the wooden ladybug speaker. At first glance, it looks like a cylindrical wooden box that holds compact stereo speakers, but upon closer inspection you’ll find that the ladybug’s wings can be opened courtesy of perforations within, revealing both volume and power controls. The wooden ladybug speaker can be powered via USB or AAA batteries, making this a truly portable speaker system that is guaranteed to strike a conversation wherever you go. It retails for approximately $14 a pop - just make sure you keep it far away from termites.

Owners of Nokia’s 3G smartphones now have yet another channel for them to stay entertained - Nokia’s very own Internet Radio service. The software provided does not only stream radio directly to the phone, it also encourages discovering new music by filtering radio stations. This is made possible by narrowing down information from names and genres to specific countries as well as languages. Nokia’s Internet Radio service is also smart enough to utilize top ten lists in order to find stations based on popularity. Currently, the Internet Radio service is a free download for the Nokia N82, N91, N95 and N95 8GB. One can only presume that this service will be compatible with future hardware releases as well.

Earphones these days are extremely advanced, being capable of drowning out all external noise while providing the best audio experience possible to the listener. The radStrap Noise Cancel earbuds from Radius of Japan is one such example, catering to 3G iPod nano owners. These lanyard headphones are hung around the neck just like Apple’s official offering, but they are driven through the dock connector instead of the minijack. This move not only increases the output volume but blocks over 80% of outside noise thanks to its in-canal earbuds. The noise canceling system runs for up to 10 hours continuously and come in matching colors with the 3G iPod nano so you won’t look out of place. Each pair of radStrap earbuds will retail for $81.
