Gun-shaped computer mouse

Gun-shaped computer mouse I suppose work must be overwhelming for some that sometimes they wished they had a gun of sorts to shoot their boss and then themselves, and that thought must have led a design engineer from Solware to come up with a gun-shaped computer mouse - touted to be the first of its kind in the world. This mouse is a perfect replica of the Sig P230, where the trigger functions as the left mouse button while the right mouse button is located where your middle finger rests. Doesn’t look too ergonomic to me though, but at least this doesn’t discriminate against lefties. Sadly, this product is now discontinued.

InnoDisk integrates PEEK into USB drive

InnoDisk integrates PEEK into USB driveInnoDisk has developed a USB flash drive that features a connector block made of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) integrated with the main body. The resin used will ultimately reduce both product weight and production costs, and can be commercialized in a shorter time period when compared to metal. Since the dimensions of metal connectors used in USB flash drives are standardized by the USB compliance committee, the use of PEEK helps reduce the thickness of the USB flash drive’s main body, making it as thin as the connector block itself. InnoDisk’s new flash drives measure a mere 4.6mm in thickness, weighing just 3 grams. Guess it is now easier than ever to lose your USB flash drives.

Eye-O-Sauron proposed

Eye-O-Sauron proposedRudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York City, has openly supported the call for a “virtual fence” scheme whereby Eye-of-Sauron-style scanner towers will be utilized when monitoring the southern US border. He thinks that this is a much better plan compared to a physical fence in the Rio Grande Valley - something locals oppose to anyway. After all, scanners and patrols are the future according to Guiliani, helping to keep a tight rein on illegal immigration without blocking access to the river. His Eye-of-Sauron plan involves Boeing’s SBInet that comprises of 98-foot-tall spy towers which can sweep the surrounding country with moving-target-indicator radar, zooming in on likely blips with telescopic thermal cameras for a positive identification. The Nazgul, er, enforcement officers can then sweep down on these illegal immigrants with greater efficiency than never before.

Contract-less iPhones not cheap at all

Contract-less iPhones not cheap at all We mentioned about unlocked iPhones going on sale in Germany yesterday, and here are the latest developments. It seems that T-Mobile will be offering the iPhone without any contract for an insanely high price of 999 Euros. In addition, T-Mobile has to unlock free of charge for customers who bought the iPhone since November 19th. Logically speaking, an unlocked iPhone would mean the lack of Visual Voicemail, although that remains to be confirmed. Do you think this locked iPhone issue is overblown, and Apple ought to stick to its original strategy of selling the iPhone with a plan, or to just bow to consumer and industry pressure by offering standalone units?

This DS TV Tuner even comes with the classic Game & Watch Fire game which you can play on the bottom screen while waiting for commercials on the top screen to finish. I sure hope that we’ll be able to choose from different Game & Watch titles with various DS TV Tuners.

Omnidirectional video in full HD

Omnidirectional video in full HDOlympus Corp. has developed a prototype of a new camera and projector that is capable of capturing omnidirectional video, shooting video images with horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 360 and 50°, respectively, in 1080i full-HD resolution, with the projector projecting the images shot. When installed on the ceiling, virtually any camera that is equipped with a similar optical system will be able to be used as a security camera that can monitor every single direction without missing a beat - sounds like a great idea to cut costs in the long run. The all-seeing camera is now a reality - now all we have to do is wait for it to be commercialized.

Suspicious Mii leads to divorce

Suspicious Mii leads to divorce Tony, a US soldier recently filed for divorce with his wife after discovering a Mii that he did not create lingering around on his Nintendo Wii. Upon further investigation, Tony realized that the offending Mii was “strikingly similar” to the person whom his wife’s Mii was playing with in Wii Bowling. Further checks with the Wii message board showed that Tony’s wife’s Mii and the bowling philanderer had plenty of Wii Bowling nights while Tony was busy fighting the war in Iraq. This is definitely a first - perhaps Tony would like to duke it out with the wife’s lover in Wii Boxing to settle the score once and for all?
