Apple pushes MacBook speed
November 1st, 2007
Apple has upgraded its MacBooks to perform even faster without much fanfare, running on Intel’s Santa Rosa platform as well as a speedier 800MHz system bus. In addition, the older Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics chipset has been ditched in favor of the slightly faster GMA X3100 for improved hardware 3D acceleration (it still won’t play hardcore games though, not that there are any on the Mac platform lol). The CPU clock has also been given a bump, touching the 2.6GHz mark. Prices begin from $1,099 onwards, and just like oil prices, it can go nowhere but upwards for different configurations.
