Griffin’s Evolve wireless speaker system looks really cool. It is a set of wireless speakers that connect wirelessly to a base. The user plugs an iPod as one would do with any other speaker/dock but at any time, you can pickup the speakers and drop them anywhere in the room. Of course, each speaker has its own rechargeable battery rated at 10 hours (by Griffin). There is also a standard audio input, if you happen to use a non-iPod player.
That’s not all: it is possible to sync more than two speakers (an unlimited number, we’ve been told) to the base station. The stand-alone wireless speakers (without the base) will be sold separately for an undermined price. If Griffin is reasonnable on the pricing, you could spread them all over your place
The question is: does it sound as good as it looks? $300 at Best Buy only.

Immersion just announced that CTT-Net Korea is shipping navigation devices that have tactile feedback powered by Immersion’s TouchSense. In a visually busy and a potentially noisy environment, the tactile feedback can provide a tactile confirmation that the last command was executed. This tactile feedback can replace or supplement a visual and audio feedback.
The devices are the CSN-7040 (above) and the CIN-7000 (built-in, look at the photo gallery). Both GPS systems feature a 7-inch screen and digital TV (DMB) – I’m sure that they play MP3 files as well.

Previous color electronic paper (E-Paper) displays that we published about from Fujitsu measured a few inches big, that’s why Bridgestone’s A3-sized (435×326mm) color E-paper is so interesting. The thickness is even more incredible: a mere 0.29mm! I personally think that A4 (like this one) is “good enough” for electronic magazines, now some works needs to be done to increase the density from 80 dot-per-inch (dpi), the equivalent of most computer displays, to 150dpi or more. Of course, 4096 colors is far from being enough but hopefully, we’ll hit 65536, then 16.7M in the near future.

Most Voice Over IP (VOIP) conference call devices look chunky and ugly but that’s not the case with the Yamaha PJP-25UR. Besides its horrible product name, this elegant and efficient device lets users direct microphones to the call participant without having wires one the table. It connects to a computer via USB and has only five buttons. Yamaha Japan.

DashWire is free online service that aims to move the management of your phone’s content to a web page instead of the phone’s display.
It’s not very hard to manage the content of your phone when you use a Blackberry or a Windows mobile phone – most of it is done on your computer through Outlook. For folks who have a more ordinary phone or a phone on which it’s really annoying to enter data (HTC Touch, iPhone?) there’s DashWire. We have not tried it, but we thought that someone out there might want to try and let us know if it’s as good as it sounds. Dashwire video demo, website

I said before that I wasn’t interested in paying a subscription for mobile TV, but one has to love this 3.2” 480×854 pixels display – yes, this is slightly beyond DVD resolution in the palm of your hand. The phone also has a 3.2 Megapixel camera and most importantly I don’t expect to see it anytime soon in the U.S. Note that high-resolution displays are much appreciated in Asia because of the character set.

The new Pentax K100D Super is a modest upgrade of the popular K100D camera, with a dust removal system borrowed from the pricier K10D model, SDM (Supersonic Drive Motor) lens support and new fastest ISO speed of 3200. The K100D Super also has an aggressive price tag of less than £400 / $600 (including kit lens). This new version of the K100D is otherwise identical to its predecessor, so do the new features and cheaper price really add up to a Super DSLR? In short: yes. Head to PhotographyBlog to read the full review.

The Benzer CDX-201 car audio system is pretty unique as it comes with a folding LCD display that can change colors, alternating between red and green to suit your taste. No idea on how much it costs, but the organic shape isn’t exactly all that memorable, looking as though it was stuck in time a decade ago. There are no notable features attached to this that makes it a must buy, but if you’re still interested in checking it out, the Benzer CDX-201 is currently on display at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair 2007.
