Google dips fingers in health industry
October 19th, 2007
Google is set to follow Microsoft where health and medical records are concerned, with a target date of early next year slated for Google Health to roll out. Since Internet users already use Google as a starting point to look for health and medical information, why not apply Google’s expertise in indexing, searching, and managing vast amount of information? In addition, Google will be able to further ring up the cash registers by targeting the health industry with its Adwords program. Reports have shown that Google aims to bring together health-related search features, health and lifestyle information (like diet and exercise programs), and a localized “find a doctor” feature. Many of these aspects will be free, but you’ll have to fork out a subscription fee for some applications.
