External Storage for TiVo Series 3

TIVO reportedly released an update (9.2) that allows TiVo Series 3 boxes so support external storage using the external SATA port. This is a much easier path to upgrade that brings real value to customers who don’t want to open the box and do other non-user-friendly things to expand the storage capacity.
Once a compatible hard drive is plugged, just reboot your TiVo and voila! It’s not clear which drives are compatible, but you can head to the tivocommunity.com site and peak around.
