Motorcycle owners often have the short end of the stick where GPS navigation systems are concerned, and the RM-A4000 aims to bridge that gap. This GPS navigation system boasts JIS 3rd class (IPX) equivalent water spray resistance and comes with a 3.5″ LCD display, 64MB of internal memory, an SD memory card slot (up to 2GB), MP3/WMA playback, MPEG-4 video support, and a Carpoint GPS receiver. It is powered by a built-in lithium polymer battery, and the RM-A4000 measures 115mm × 80mm × 30mm, weighing 260 grams and will be released when November rolls around for approximately $596. It would be interesting to see if motorcycle-centric GPS systems feature shortcuts like small alleys and lanes just in case you’re running short on time.

Haier recently unveiled its 17.1″ G70 Santa Rosa-based notebook, also known as Transformer due to the Autobot decal on its front cover at KES 2007. It will run on an Intel 965PM + ICH8M chipset and powered by Nvidia’s GeForce Go 7950 GTX 256M DDR III video card. Other specifications include a 2.5″ SATA hard drive and 1.3 megapixel webcam. RAM can be expanded up to 4GB, while fingerprint recognition and Bluetooth connectivity rounds off the list of features. The G70 Transformer notebook weighs 3.95kg, although I do not have information for its asking price.

Darth Vader might be the head honcho of the dark sides force, but that doesn’t mean even imperial fighters need a little glow to illuminate their way every once in a while. The Darth Vader Flashlight has a useful handle with power on-off button so even kids should have good control of the flashlight. When the flashlight is powered on, it plays a sample Star Wars side effect, though this might be troublesome with the young ones, since there is no volume control and no other means at shutting it off. The flashlights are sadly sold-out from the retailer, so you’ll have to hit up eBay if you want one of these for your collection.

The USB Chocolate MP3 Player from Brando is one highly portable player, weighing a mere 12 grams - so make sure you know where you’ve kept it in your pocket lest you forget it is there and lose it accidentally, whether to the washing machine or having it dropped out without your knowledge. There is no LCD display, so chances are you’ll have to make do with random song playback. It measures 3cm x 4.3cm x 1cm and supports both MP3 and WMA audio formats. I have absolutely no idea what the symbols on the buttons mean - is there some sort of dog walking mode on this thing? And what does the word “Chocolate” have to do with describing this MP3 player? The 2GB model will retail for $39.00.

If you are one who loves collecting movie memorabilia, then this auction will definitely interest you. Up for grabs is one of the most beautiful Airwolf helmet replicas to date, and it not only looks good but has substance as well simply by working. Even the most hardcore Airwolf fan (a TV series about a decked out chopper that has more brains than our politicians) will be thrilled to find out that there are more than enough buttons and LED action going around in the helmet itself. Features include a fully-fitted lycra covered collar, an individual serial number (only 26 will be shipped to the US), a fully-functioning speed visor, LED targeting bar, and electronic switches, and a padded interior. The bid starts at $700, although you can Buy it Now! for $900.

We’ve seen solar powered parking meters in the past, and this time folks at Eastbourne in East Sussex, UK will be able to benefit from intelligent parking meters that are able to detect if someone is trying to damage it as well as cry out for help when servicing is required. Interestingly enough, these meters are able to “call home” once their stash is about to overflow so they can be emptied to gobble up more loose change. Best of all is they’re solar powered, so money isn’t the only thing they collect as they love sunlight as well. If only they’re able to be vandal-proof as well.

More often than not, we find solid state drives in notebooks but Alienware has gone against the grain by releasing a gaming desktop with the option to include a 64GB solid state drive. This option will be made available to the Area-51 ALX and Aurora ALX systems and hope that this step will be the beginning of the end for hard drive for gamers. Great news, but that would mean gamers have to work much harder and save more in order to enjoy the advantages of extremely quick load times minus the burden of noise and potential unreliability. A couple of 64GB drives in a RAID 0 stripe offers a continuous 128GB of space. You’ll need to fork out an additional $1,700 if you want to add in the SSD option.

The Kone Vacuum comes in a variety of colors, and what’s special about it is obviously its unique shape. It looks pretty much like a traffic cone at first glance, having being designed by Karim Rashid. This hand vacuum is no slouch when it comes to performance either, having racked up some positive reviews and doing better than its contemporaries within the same price range. You can pick it up for approximately $30 each. Having said all that, the Kone Vacuums are so well designed, I would not want to use them as that would mean dirtying them. Paranoid, yes, but it is something folk like me would have to overcome.
