Japanese get Wii Fit this holiday season
October 10th, 2007
There is no way that Nintendo will forgo the lucrative holiday season without launching their highly anticipated game, Wii Fit, for the Nintendo Wii. It will hit retail stores in Japan from December 1st onwards, retailing for $75. The higher than normal price is due to the inclusion of a pressure-sensing mat known as the Wii Balance Board that is capable of sensing motion. This unique gaming peripheral will enable players to perform previously unheard of activities, such as “heading” virtual soccer balls as well as experience ski jumping in the living room itself. The Wii Balance Board has also been touted to be compatible with yoga and aerobics as well. Nintendo has underlined the importance of the Wii Fit title as it will spearhead their vision of expanding the definition of videogames and its user base. For those living in other parts of the world, you’ll just have to wait until 2008 instead.
