Vcom3D does the talking
October 8th, 2007
Vcom3D has taken the humble iPod and fused it with a bunch of Arabic and Kurdish phrases to create a makeshift language translator that is currently being used by approximately 160 troops in Iraq. This iPod boast different “playlists” that cater for various scenarios, featuring relevant phrases in the MP3s themselves. You also get on-screen Arabic and English text forms, along with a phonetic version of Arabic phrases. Each package comes bundled with a sturdy armband case and a speaker attached further up the arm for one hand operation. Nothing really gets the message across hostile targets like the sweet sound of an M-16 rifle, but then again there are situations where you need to get the ordinary folk out of the way before being trigger happy.
