Leaked: Dell XPS M1530

Leaked: Dell XPS M1530

It seems as though Dell has leaked some critical info on their new XPS M1530 notebooks and it seems lean and mean. If sources are correct, we can expect the M1530 to be released in November – I wonder how many customers will try to cancel their recent Dell laptop order to get this one.

ETEN Glofiish M800 - like HTC Kaiser but with 4 times higher resolution

From MSMobiles:While ETEN Glofiish X800 is still not on sale (it was presented at various trade shows already), a successor to this phone - with slide-out QWERTY keyboard - is being released! Interestingly it has almost all the features that HTC Kaiser (aka HTC TyTN II) has: built-in GPS, HSDPA, WiF, Bluetooth, 3G video calling, … but it also has something that neither HTC Kaiser nor any other HTC phone can offer: VGA (640×480) display in a pocket-size device: Some specifications: 500 MHz Samsung processor 256 MB ROM 2 cameras VGA display Windows Mobile 6 Professional (i.e. Windows Mobile 6 for touch-screens) HSDPA / UMTS SiRFstar III GPS chip 1530 mAh battery available since November 2007 expected price: 599 to 629 Euro standard 2.5 mm stereo headset connector (instead of prioprietary one used in HTC phones) Source: http://msmobiles.com/news.php/6768.htmlMore: PocketInfo.NL

No Google Phone

No Google PhoneDespite rumors floating around concerning the Google Phone, word has it that this rumor is unsubstantiated as Google is just concentrating on software that has Windows Mobile in its sights, since the company wants to leverage the cellphone’s advertising potential. Google will also aim to stay true to its mantra of doing no evil by not charging phone makers with a licensing fee for the software unlike Microsoft. Guess Windows has ousted Palm’s obsolete operating system, will we see the tables turned on Microsoft with this new software from Google?

Massage Me Jacket smooths stress out

Massage Me Jacket smooths stress out

The Massage Me Jacket is one of the more interesting gaming peripherals I’ve seen in recent years, featuring buttons made out of soft materials that have their outputs extended with wires to a central point - namely the plug. These neoprene layers serve but a single purpose - to give the feel good factor when wearing the jacket, while boasting strong enough material that can withstand frequent massages. The Massage Me Jacket basically allows you to play games on a home console while giving a rather vigorous massage to the person wearing it, although it is a given that some button mashing games will fare much better compared to say, Final Fantasy that requires far less buttons to be pressed.

Microsoft Zune Car Pack

Microsoft Zune Car PackWhile the new Zune does not have that large a userbase as the iPod, there are still enough Zune users out there to create a profitable accessory market. Among the new accessories released to complement the new Zune is the Zune Car Pack. This device helps you detect the best station for broadcasting your Zune automatically while charging it as you drive around. It can store a couple of different presets and features a dashboard grip pad. Interested Zune owners will be able to pick up the Zune Car Pack this November 13 for $79.99.

Electronic sheet can be embedded

Electronic sheet can be embeddedResearchers at the University of Tokyo have developed a flexible plastic electronic sheet which can be embedded within tables, walls, and floors. It can be used to form spontaneous connections with gadgets placed on them courtesy of plastic transistors and copper wires that snake through the sheets, allowing data transfer using this new method. This solution could potentially signal the end for the need to plug gadgets into each other, which is always a good thing. No idea on whether this concept will make it commercially or not, but it is interesting enough to toy around with that could potentially change the future.

Alaska Airlines brings inflight WiFi

Alaska Airlines brings inflight WiFiAlaska Airlines already has plans to starttesting their new WiFi service on a Boeing 737 when spring rolls around, although that move is rather baffling. Are signals in the air much better in the spring? Why miss the crucial holiday season that could see passengers flock to your airline just because you offer WiFi service during a flight? Hopefully all goes well in the test, and the management had better include some sort of power outlet at each seat so that passengers in long haul flights would be able to finish downloading that torrent before reaching their destination.
