Electronic sheet can be embedded

October 8th, 2007

Electronic sheet can be embeddedResearchers at the University of Tokyo have developed a flexible plastic electronic sheet which can be embedded within tables, walls, and floors. It can be used to form spontaneous connections with gadgets placed on them courtesy of plastic transistors and copper wires that snake through the sheets, allowing data transfer using this new method. This solution could potentially signal the end for the need to plug gadgets into each other, which is always a good thing. No idea on whether this concept will make it commercially or not, but it is interesting enough to toy around with that could potentially change the future.
