FALTIMA 010 does LPs
For those who treasure their large collection of LPs, there is always the FALTIMA 010 that helps you transfer music from them to other more modern formats such as an SD memory card. It comes with a CD recorder/player, a USB port and an SD memory card slot. No idea on what the recording quality is like, but at least it helps you make the jump from an analog world to the current digital one in which we live in today. Nike wants you to sweat it out with their new Amp+ watch that not only tells you the current time, it also has the power to control your iPod while offering audio feedback about your current workout. The Amp+ Sport Remote Control will need to work with the Nike+iPod Sport Kit though in order to fully maximize its features. Good thing to know that its polyurethane strap can be cut to any size wrist, boasting a stainless steel buckle and being water resistant up to 50 meters. There is a fair variety of colors to choose from, with a recommended retail price of $79. A great Christmas gift to get for someone whom you want to get to exercise.
We all know of the potential power of multicore CPUs in computers (as to whether they’re being taken advantage of by programmers, that’s another can of worms), but what happens when these multicores appear in cellphones, cars, and HD TV players? NEC has a new technique that enables software to run in separate processors on each core, allowing the device to stop a virus before it has the chance to replicate itself, spreading through other Internet-connected devices. This technology has not been named yet, but should it actually work as intended, it would go a long way in preventing wanton spread of destructive viruses in the near future. Hopefully the day comes sooner rather than later.
