NEC has released a couple of new 15″ amorphous-silicon color TFT LCD modules that feature XGA resolution, targeting industrial equipment such as factory automation controllers, measuring instruments, ATM terminals, kiosks and POS systems. The first among the two is the NL10276BC30-32, featuring a brightness of 250cd/m2, while the NL10276BC30-33 has a slightly higher brightness of 350 cd/m2. The word on the street is that Apple is preparing “significant announcements” in the last week of October. AppleInsider reminds us that this is right when Apple I supposed to deliver the new Mac OS, although Apple is apparently still working on it. The best guess from industry sources is Oct 26th for a Leopard launch. To be continued…

Belkin just launched their n52te gaming keyboard aimed at first person shooter (FPS) and real-time strategy (RTS) gamers. The devices is supposed to reduce your response time by keeping all the relevant buttons as close to your fingers as possible. The said buttons are programmable indeed, and it is even possible to save multiple player profiles, in case you share it with a friend.
The device is quite sleek looking, but I’d recommend Belkin to use a decent product name – this one sucks. “n52te” is even worse than Samsung’s cellphone names.
Available in November 2007 in the US ($70), Europe (50 to 70 Euros), Australia ($100), and Korea (69000KRW) and February 2008 in Asia, Canada, and Latin America

We usually try to stay focused on consumer electronics here, but this one is just too geeky to not feature it. (if you have one, send us a photo at contact@ubergizmo.com)

Energy Sistem has just released a couple of new Inngenio portable media players, and they are the 4000 Duet HDP M-EX and the 5000 HDP M-EX. The former comes with a 2.8″ TFT LCD display at QVGA resolution, a miniSD memory card slot, a microphone, an integrated FM tuner, and an external loudspeaker. As for the Inngenio 5000, you get an SD memory card slot, a larger 3.5″ TFT LCD QVGA display, a microphone, an integrated FM tuner, and an external speaker. The 4000 and 5000 will retail for €155 and €120 respectively. Would this beat the iPod in terms of sales? Nah, but at least it is an alternative for those looking for something a little different.

The Analog Projection Clock is pretty cool as it is one device that acts as a bridge between the old and the new. It doesn’t do digital numbers, but relies on the analog face of a clock instead to tell the time in old school style, Roman numerals and all. When placed approximately 10 feet away from the wall, the clock measures nearly 3′ in diameter, so you can’t exactly use this in a cramped apartment. Brightness levels and focus are fully adjustable to suit your preference. The clock itself is powered by a single AA battery, retailing for $100. Definitely an interesting housewarming gift to surprise your friend with.

Samsung is announcing what it claims to be the first LCD display with a USB video connection. The 940UX is a regular 1280×1024 pixels display that is capable of receiving display data via USB in addition of DVI and VGA. This has the main benefit of allowing non-DVI equipped computers to get a DVI-quality image. Upon connection, the display will be recognized as a USB device and the (embedded) drivers will be installed.
Not that the latency might be much higher compared to a DVI connection, so while this is probably OK for productivity tasks, graphics intensive ones might not be suitable for this display.
