Ceiva is a household name when it comes to digital photo frames, and the company has branched off to include this function in refrigerator doors, particularly those from Whirpool. The inclusion of such digital photo frames will enable the display of online feeds, so you can always stay up to date with the latest news even when you’re away from the TV and looking for a snack. This new Whirpool frames will be available from October onwards at Best Buy outlets, retailing for $250 each. Sounds more like a luxury to me than anything else, but at least it gives mom a broad smile as she slaves away in the kitchen with a slideshow of her family being played over and over again.

After reading news about SlingPlayer making an appearance on Symbian-powered phones, here’s more information for those who are riding with BlackBerry. It looks as though SlingMedia and RIM are currently collaborating to bring a BlackBerry-compatible SlingPlayer client sometime in the near future. Guess nobody’s left out in the end eh, so it doesn’t really matter which camp you’re on at the moment - as long as you get to enjoy your TV fix no matter where you are.

Garmin has included ANT Sport technology to their Edge 705 GPS navigation system that targets cyclists, enabling the unit to communicate with power meters (such as the Cinqo sensor) while providing you with a handy map so that you’ll know where you’re headed off to exactly. Should you opt for the bundle option, the Edge 705 will even give out a list of interesting places you can wind down after a long ride. Since the ANT Sport thing is not proprietary, this means any power sensor manufacturer will be able to ride on this technology by linking their product with the Edge 705. The Garmin Edge 705 will be released only next January, and ought to retail for $650 if you pick up the bundle option.

The ingeniously named Wattson is a device that keeps track of the amount of energy your entire home consumes in real time, and it does this without the hassle of pesky wires. All you need to do is clip its transceiver to the cable between your electricity meter and fuse box and you’re good to go. Not only that, the Wattson also displays electricity cost estimates while flashing LED warnings whenever you clock up too many hours on your HDTV and Xbox 360 playing Halo 3. If you’re that much of a control freak, you can also join the online Wattson community to download a record of just how much energy you use and compare those results with other Wattson owners. The Wattson can be picked up for approximately $125 now - a far cry from the $687 which we posted about back in December last year.

Wowwee, the company that brought us the Robosapien, has teamed up with DreamWorks Animation Consumer Products to produce the Flytech Barry B. Benson, making it the first radio-controlled flying bee in the world. Flytech Barry B. Benson is the official flying bee toy based on the Bee Movie, featuring a unique flying action and dual-wing design that enables users to be a nuinsance in general as they control his flight path through the home and outdoors. Once again, this is made possible by imitating nature as the toy replicates the flapping-wing flight of both birds and insects to stay afloat. He requires half a dozen AA batteries and not honey to stay in the air though, and comes with a pair of spare wings (good afterthought considering how rough kids are), a spare propeller, detachable antenna, remote controller and tail ribbon. You can pick up the FlyTech Barry B. Benson this fall for $49.99.

Even Halo cannot escape the cute clutches of the Mimobots - and characters such as Master Chief and the Spartans are now USB flash drives, but these come with the added incentive of pre-loaded Halo content such as wallpapers, screensavers, excerpts from the Halo novel, and even an unseen episode of “The Spartan Life.” You can start placing your pre-order for the Halo Mimobot Series 1 today, but shipping will only begin on October 18th. Choose from 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB capacities. The $50 price tag for the 1GB model might be seen by some as pretty high, but if you’re a fan of the series and want to own some collectibles, be prepared to pay through the nose.

This Spiderman Boombox makes the witty webslinger look as though he’s received a huge pounding from Venon and has this monstrous bruise on his forehead, but that is actually where the boombox resides. You get a CD player as well as an AM/FM radio. Too bad the speakers are located where Spidey’s ears are supposed to be - I would’ve preferred it to complete the glazed eye look if they were positioned there. You can pick up the Spiderman Boombox for $49.99 - just make sure you use it lest real spiders start to make their home around this piece of kiddy electronics.

These new notebooks from Panasonic aren’t as “rugged” as the Ruffneck Zone 1, but they can handle quite a spill. They are made to be able to withstand a fall of up to 30-inches, or about desk height, and also feature a spill-resistant keyboard. That doesn’t mean we suggest going swimming with one of these. One great feature of these ToughBooks is their light weight. The 10.4-inch R7 weighs in at only 2.1 pounds, with the 12.4-inch W7 weighing only 2.8 pounds, and the 14.1-inch Y7 weighing 3.3 pounds. All of the ToughBooks come with a low-voltage Core 2 Duo Processor, with a base configuration of 1 GB of RAM and an 80 GB hard drive, all which can be opted for more heavy gear. These notebooks will ship in Japan through October and November.
