Unlike its little brother, this iPaq 900 is a potent data-entry smartphone. It has the bext connectivity that one can get today with 3G, Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0. Just like its sibling, it can locate where the user is using A-GPS. It too has a touch-screen display that makes it compatible with Windows Mobile 6“pro”.
If it looks bulky, it’s because it is: at 113 x 64 x 16 mm (4.45” x 2.52” x 0.63”), it is quite larger than a Samsung Blackjack (read review), but if you can bear the larger size and weight, you’ll get a processor that’s twice as fast, a touch screen, WiFi and A-GPS… that’s worth thinking about.

The reality is that many people plan their routes on a PC using Yahoo Maps, Google Maps or something like it. Once done, we print it and have to re-enter the data in the GPS unit. It’s quite frustrating, (especially if you use the BMW in-dash system).
Mercedez’ Search and Send could be the solution: it lets drivers plan their route on their computer and send it directly to the car navigation system. It works with Yahoo an Google maps.
Search and Send leverages the Tele Aid communication channel created by Mercedes to connect to its cars. Mercedes video in the full article.
