Just when you thought that you’ve seen every single iPod speaker system, along comes the Woodland iPod Ice Chest Cooler. This unique waterproof cooler features waterproof speakers and a rainproof outer shell, making sure the contents inside don’t get soaked during a downpour. It boasts an integrated AM/FM radio to keep you entertained on your picnics as well as a line-in cable that lets you hook up your iPod or other compatible audio player of your choice. Better get a waterproof iPod case to go along with this though. The Woodland iPod Ice Chest Cooler measures 11″ x 8″ x 9″ and runs off a quartet of AA batteries, and it retails for $49.99.

Looks like those who have been eyeing the Chestnut Hill George for some time now will be able to pick it up for $500 after a 10% price reduction. Not only that, Chestnut Hill has included an outboard remote charging stand at no additional cost as long as you purchase it before the year is over. Should you get one today (or within the next month), take note that side panels and speaker grilles will be released this October, coming in different colors to suit your abode’s color scheme. They’ll set you back by another Benjamin though, but nobody ever said fashion and good taste were cheap. New owners will also benefit from the latest firmware that adds a bunch of tweaks and improvements for their benefit.

Koreans are an extremely lucky bunch - just take a look at the X2 AIO and tell me you will be able to find another portable media player that comes with as many features. For starters, you get a 4.3″ touchscreen display with 480 x 272 resolution, support for popular audio and video files, integrated GPS navigation, DMB streaming, and a massive 60GB hard drive to store all your content. Processing tasks are handled by a very able 600MHz Alchemy AU1250 processor. The X2 AIO will hit the Korean market for approximately $640, although you can pick up the 30GB model for $580. Would be nice to see the inclusion of WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity though.

Designer Satyendra Pakhale has unveiled the cup-shaped portable speakers at the Tendence Lifestyle 2007 event, featuring a down-firing form factor to produce deeper sounds. Each speaker comes with a standard 3.5mm audio connector, so you can forget about enjoying the pleasures of stereo audio. No idea on how much one costs nor when will it be available, but it definitely looks fragile enough to pull a Humpty Dumpty should you accidentally brush it down to the ground.

There were rumors floating around that Sony will be selling its robot division to Toyota sometime this week, but apparently that rumor was quashed by Sony themselves in a press statement. Technology behind the now defunct Aibo and Sony’s tiny Qrio robots have not, in any way, been sold, given, or transferred to Toyota. This rumor cropped up and started making its rounds as folks lapped up ‘news’ that Toyota was trying to find ways to compete with Honda’s Asimo. What are some of the reasons Sony has not sold its robotic technology yet? Will the company make a comeback in the future once the restructuring exercise is over?

I know that all of you love slim and svelte cellphones made out of the choicest materials, but this wooden handset from Russia definitely deflates any high expectations that you have. Virtually everything but the buttons and display has been replaced with wood, making this more hardy than plastic but much more subsceptible to moisture. Judging by the screen display and button layout, the innards were probably taken from an old Ericsson handset (yes, even before Sony and Ericsson teamed up). Looks like a pretty lethal weapon to me!

Yahoo! is currently working on an update to its email client by giving users the functionality of sending text messages to a cellphone for free from Yahoo! Mail. This service is said to work in the US, Canada, India, and Philippines in real-time albeit being restricted to selected carriers only. The recipients of such text messages might have to pay for that though, which doesn’t sound like a hot idea especially when my nemesis floods my inbox with thousands of messages in an attempt to drive me bankrupt.

TokyoFlash are at it again, bringing a new timepiece known as the Morse Code Watch. You’ll need a working knowledge of Morse Code to tell the time either by listening to it via the minuscule integrated speaker or reading the dot-dash-dot on its read LEDs. Of course, if your gray matter is too tired after a vigorous workout of Brain Training, there is the convenience of telling the time via standard Roman numerals at the touch of a button. The TokyoFlash Morse Code Watch can adorn your wrist today for £59.95.

The Zerotherm BTF95 processor heat sink definitely leans toward the feminine side as it was shaped after a butterfly. Made out of copper, that means plenty of surface for cooling purposes. The Zerotherm BTF95 supports current socket AMD and Intel processors, so it doesn’t really matter which camp you pledge your allegiance to. Probably case mod enthusiasts will find the $45 Zerotherm BTF95 a unique purchase while the rest of us average Joes just want something that does the job well.

While the SUV craze shows no sign of disappearing, it is rather distressing to note that even little ones these days have access to their very own SUV. The Super Powered Ride-On SUV for Tots boasts a couple of high performance 24-volt electric motors that enable it to travel up to 12kph on grass or concrete in a stable manner without running into any danger of having it flip over. I suppose it still makes sense for your kid to wear a helmet and some protective gear just in case the nigh impossible happens. Other features include an integrated FM radio, passenger mirrors, and a horn to irritate everyone in the neighborhood. The rechargeable battery offers up to 18 hours of run time which is very impressive. The Super Powered Ride-On SUV for Tots will make you $1,000 poorer.
