August 23rd, 2007
Toyota has just lifted the curtain on the TPR-Robina robot that has been designated to play the role of a receptionist. Standing a mere 4 feet tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds, this small robot comes with the unique ability of scanning nametags of visitors to provide a personalized service on an unprecedented level. The TPR-Robina also boasts jointed fingers that are capable of holding writing instruments, making it able to sign autographs. Just in case you’re at the Toyota Kaikan Exhibition Hall in Japan on August 27th, you’ll be able to check out the TPR-Robina.
