Eco Media Player winds into action
August 12th, 2007

Remember those wind-up flashlights? Trevor Baylis has taken that concept by coming up with the Eco Media Player that churns out 40 minutes of audio playback with just a single minute of windup time. This device also does video in ASV and MPEG 4 format thanks to its full color LCD display and comes with an integrated FM tuner, a photo album viewer, and e-book compatibility. Data and media are stored on the 2GB internal memory or SD memory cards. If you haven’t had your breakfast yet and feel too weak to crank up some music, there is always the USB port that allows fast recharging to its internal li-ion battery. Pretty neat to have if you’re constantly on the go, and it definitely beats looking for a power outlet! At least you no longer have to treat yourself to in-flight movies during those long haul plane rides. The Eco Media Player retails for approximately $340 a pop and could certainly do with a design overhaul.
