The Boom Borda motorized skate board could end up as a pretty nifty intra-city mode of transports, since it comes with a 400 watt electric motor that enables it to travel up to 15 miles on a single charge. Needless to say, the heavier a person is, the more energy is required for transportation so real world performance will probably be significantly lower than the quoted number. The Boom Borda features ABS-style brakes and uses a digital handheld radio pistol grip controller as a means of getting around without bumping into anybody or other obstacles. The main trick to learn would be maintaining your balance as you zip by large and congested crowds at 25mph. Interested parties can pick up the Boom Borda for $462.99 a pop.

If you think that you’ve seen it all when it comes to iPod speakers, think again. The Shady Beats offers a paradigm shift as it not only acts as a sunglasses case, it can also store your iPod and double up as a pair of iPod speakers as well. You can even bring this to the poolside for some fun as it is water-resistant to a certain degree. Integrated NXT flat panel speakers allow you to enjoy your favorite tunes as you chill out under the sun, although sound quality won’t be good enough for a party at just 8 watts of power. The multi-purpose Shady Beats retail for £24.99 and is one of the cooler investments you can make this summer.

Looks like incubation period for the HP Photosmart A826 photo printer is over, as this egg-like device comes with truly one of the more original designs for a printer. It features an extremely large LCD display that measures 7″ - that’s as large as most digital photo frames around. In addition, the LCD display boasts touchscreen capability for easier navigation. Other features include an internal paper tray, a front panel media reader that does CF, SD, MS/Duo and xD cards, and PictBridge support. No word on pricing as at press time, but you can be assured that this compact photo printer will share the print quality of its predecessors.

The folks at the FCC have just nodded their heads in approval of the new Linksys Router that features the T-Mobile HotSpot@Home branding. This model comes with a couple of SIM slots and an equivalent amount of phone jacks to accompany its Ethernet jacks and 802.11b/g WiFi connectivity. The manual doesn’t really provide much information, but it does seem as though both SIM cards are capable of providing separate phone numbers to the two phone jacks, where one of them can be connected to a standard phone while the other could be used via a fax machine or other wired devices. Pricing and availability details are still unknown as at press time.

Most neckties tend to stifle you in, but this USB-powered necktie from Thanko comes with a modern twist - it features a USB-powered fan located in the fake knot at the top that actually redirects air from its surroundings onto the face of the wearer. All you need is a single USB connection and you’re good to go, although I wonder how irritating the sound of the fan would be after a while. It retails for approximately $26 after conversion and will probably require a thick skin and an insane amount of self-confidence to pull this one off. I say pick up a USB-powered fan instead so that you won’t end up as the laughing stock of the office.

How many regular DVD players out there do you know that can actually upscale video to 1080p? The Oppo Digital DV-980H is one of them, being the first in the world to do so while offering 7.1 channel audio simultaneously. It holds the distinction of being a true universal player, supporting various formats such as DVD, DVD-Audio, and SACD discs. Video upscaling up to 1080p might not be as good as a native HD DVD or Blu-ray, but it sure as heck raises the bar significantly when compared to standard DVDs. Connectivity features include HDMI 1.2, component video, optical, coax, and analog. At $169 a pop, this is certainly one of the better buys you’ll make when you pick one up.

Fujitsu has yet another RakuRaku (”easy” in Japanese) handset available for the masses, targeting those who are just about to embark into the world of cellphones. Measuring 17.6mm in thickness, this RakuRaku handset ain’t too shabby when it comes to specifications, featuring a GPS navigation system, a digital camera, noise reduction technology for crystal clear conversations, an automatic photo correction algorithm for sharper images, and a Mobile G Scanner that lets you compose emails through the use of icons and drawings without the need to touch the handset. No idea on how much it costs though, but the sheer number of buttons make me doubt whether using this is as easy as it looks.

Summer sure brings about the worst in some of us who suffer from allergies, which is why the Pro-Aqua air-cleaning system could be a wise investment in preventing you from suffering symptoms such as red eyes and a runny nose. This indoor system supposedly improves air and climate quality thanks to the integrated wet and dry cleaning mechanisms that comprise of wet vacuuming, air washing and scenting, inhalation, bed and mattress cleaning, carpet and upholstery cleaning and vacuuming. Guess after putting your entire home through such a treatment, you gotta throw the cat out should you continue to suffer from allergy symptoms.

Rev it up with the car-themed USB flash drives from Dummberry. They’re nothing but standard USB flash drives that come in a lovely external shell, featuring a wide range of classic cars to suit your taste. These vintage vehicles include a 1959 Bonneville called the Muscle HOTTRod, a 1962 T-bird known as the LowRider CLASSIC, and a 1970 Dodge Challenger who goes by the moniker the Blazin’ Green Machine. Strange to see that only two storage capacities are available - 256MB and 1GB which retail for $17 and $30 respectively. They’re all handmade, so expect no two to be exactly alike.
