Avago AMRS-2325 pointing solution

Avago AMRS-2325 pointing solution

Avago Technologies has just launched its new input device module known as the AMRS-2325 in Korea, bringing together a navigation pad module with a motion sensor and an integrated circuit in order to provide users with a mouse-like pointing solution (or the Wiimote in gaming jargon :P). The AMRS-2325 will have many practical applications when commercially available, ranging from handheld and gaming devices to computer peripherals and remote controls. The capacitive sense technology used within means users can even use this while wearing gloves, which is a step up from other touch-sensitive devices. Other features include a joystick mode, a scrollwheel mode, and a 4-way switch mode. Looks pretty nifty by all accounts.

Rouge O2 Electronic Wine Breather

Rouge O2 Electronic Wine Breather Wines, like humans, need to breathe. Unfortunately, how many of us are equipped with the knowledge of just how long a wine must decant before enjoying it? The Rouge O2 Electronic Wine Breather does the job for you, gently bubbling air through your wine in order to release its full bouquet and flavor, cutting down breathing time from 60 minutes to just one. Now if only there was a similar device that compresses working time from 8 solid hours to just 10 minutes. I’d be camping out for something like that the moment it is announced. The Rouge O2 Electronic Wine Breather runs on two AAA batteries and works great for up to 230 bottles before a replacement is needed. At £11.95, it makes a great housewarming gift, too!

XMI X-Mini Capsule Speaker

XMI X-Mini Capsule Speaker

The XMI X-Mini Capsule Speaker might be small in size, but it is big on performance. This diminutive speaker features special design properties, especially the vacuum chamber that opens up like an accordion in order to mimic the acoustic properties of subwoofers (as claimed by the manufacturer), resulting in an enhanced bass output when placed side-by-side with other compact speakers. Integrated rechargeable batteries help you to share your music with other people on the go without being shackled by wires. The X-Mini is currently available in Singapore only, and there is no word on whether it will see a worldwide release. If you’re heading down to that island republic anytime soon, it retails for approximately $32.

Penguin tin modded to play game

Altoids tin modded to play game

What do you think of when you see an empty Penguin tin? Greg Sanders apparently see more than just a piece of recyclable metal, he envisions a portable game box complete with electronics within that lets you control a game via a Sega Genesis controller. The game in question is Dungeons of Doom, a rogue-like title that can be carried around in a single Penguin tin. I guess there is no limit to imagination - now if only he can find a creative method to market such an invention. Classic games in an Penguin tin? I’ll take 10.

Digital Stealth Home Camera System

Digital Stealth Home Camera SystemIf you’re paranoid about the type of people who approach your driveway or grounds, there is always the Digital Stealth Home Camera System to help alleviate those fears. A waterproof digital camera monitors your surrounding property by recording everything it sees in a digital format. Whenever motion is detected, the camera will record down 10 seconds of video for playback later. Since it is black in color, most folks will probably miss this strapped to a nearby tree at night. The Digital Stealth Home Camera System will retail for $455.00. Super Mom as an action figure

Super Mom as an action figureMoms have been churning out high quality work under extremely harsh working environments for years now, and these days they seem to be having it worse with a corporate life to juggle as well. There is now a Super Mom action figure that chronicles the life of a corporate mom who still has a baby to take care of when she comes home. This $16.95 action figure looks extremely fun to play with since she features interchangeable calm and frazzled heads (complete with the curler look), angel and devilish babies, a cellphone, a To Do list, groceries, business and sneaker shoes, and a purse. Too bad Mother’s Day has already passed, but you could pick one up as an impromptu present to brighten up mom’s day.

Pyramid is actually a Dreamtime Clock

Pyramid is actually a Dreamtime Clock The Dreamtime Clock comes in a pyramid shape that bathes your surroundings in an ever-changing spectrum of light, thanks to advanced LED technology within (although a simple color wheel could simulate a similar effect). Time is announced with a gentle chime and flashes of light every hour and thirty minutes. Should you want to know the exact minute at the moment, just touch the Dreamtime and it will chime to the exact minute. A trio of AAA batteries power this thing, although something as power intensive as this would probably be better off attached to a nearby power outlet. You can pick up the Dreamtime Clock for $39.95.

Self-Righting Worklight

Self-Righting WorklightHow many of you have actually knocked over a working light while in the basement? Just like Humpty Dumpty, it falls down and probably breaks into a million pieces. After receiving an earful from your other half, you still have to trudge to the store to get a replacement. Make sure you pick up the Wobble Light Jr. Self-Righting Worklight instead - it is bright, durable, and virtually indestructible! Even if you accidentally knock it, it won’t tipple over - pretty much like how the Johnnie Walker Swing bottle holds its own on a ship. Adequate internal ventilation is provided to help keep the light cool enough to touch, while a shock absorber protects the bulb from strikes and jarring. This unique Self-Righting Worklight retails for $79.99 and ought to be made a mandatory citizen in any self-respecting home.
