Variable Angle Spotting Scope

Variable Angle Spotting Scope

Most scopes require the user to strain their necks at certain angles in order to view objects from far away, but the Variable Angle Spotting Scope solves this potential neck strain problem by relying on a similar refracting telescopes prism system that can be tilted up to 90 degrees for the optimum viewing angle. This is also great for observing wildlife since it is able to tilt smoothly without resulting in any clicks that might scare off wildlife in the vicinity. Features include a 60mm objective lens and eyepiece lens that come fully-coated with a microscopic film of magnesium fluoride for optimal light transmission. You can even wear eyeglasses while observing, thanks to the 41mm eye relief. You can pick up this rather nifty scope for $299.95 from Hammacher.

Image Stabilizing Binoculars

Image Stabilizing Binoculars

Hammacher has made available its pair of Image Stabilizing Binoculars that have been touted to be the most powerful of its kind in the world. Features include a resolution of three angular seconds of stabilization and a special design that helps counter vibrations caused by moving air, land, or sea vehicles. It relies on a passive mechanical stabilizer to compensate for motion, unlike other offerings that sap up battery life. Fully multi-coated optics are used with this pair of binoculars, giving your crisp and clear images up to 1,000 yards away at 20x magnification. Each $1,699.95 purchase comes with its own flip-down lens covers, carrying case, and neck strap. Definitely not something the average Joe will pick up on an impulse.

The Quicklink Pen Elite is a $149.95 device that comes in handy if you’re a voracious reader.

Bug Jar Cat Toy for felines (duh)

Bug Jar Cat Toy for felines (duh)So let me get this straight - dogs love to chase after bubbles, but cats prefer to paw after insects? That is apparently the case with the Bug Jar Cat Toy that contains tiny ‘bugs’ that seem to fly around in a lifelike manner while contained within the jar. Your cat will definitely go wild at these rainbow-bright bugs flitting about as they try to claw their way through the jar (which is nigh impossible, but that won’t stop them from trying). I suppose the good old scratching post will be neglected for a while until your feline wisens up to the game and turns it’s attention elsewhere. The Bug Jar Cat Toy - driving cats nuts since the turn of the new millennium for £12.99.

Internet made easy for tiny tots

Internet made easy for tiny totsFisher Price has long been a household name when it comes to products for kids, and the Easy Link Internet Launch Pad certainly brings playing a step closer to the digital age. This device requires your kid to plug an Easy Link character smart key into the launch pad in order to fire up their favorite kid-friendly websites, free from the dangers of child-unfriendly elements that are all-too-present in the World Wide Web. It even blocks access to other sites, links, and pop-ups, as the only way to visit different sites is to insert a different Easy Link smart key. Navigation is done via the launch pad’s arrow keys, or your computer’s mouse and keyboard if they prefer. Access to your desktop and hard drive is also blocked, so you don’t need to worry about having your work wiped out by accident. The Easy Link Internet Launch Pad is now available for $30.

12 Can Vending Machine

12 Can Vending MachineFancy your personal vending machine at your desk? The 12 Can Vending Machine fits the bill perfectly, cramming in 12 cans of drinks across four rows. It works pretty much like its larger sibling, where pressing the selector button will dispense the beverage of your choice. A transparent window shows the dispensing motion that will mesmerize you and your co-workers (for the first few times at least until the novelty wears off). This vending machine will keep its contents anywhere between 68 to 77° F below ambient temperature. Too bad it only comes in one color - silver. If you’re interested in having one of these sitting in your cubicle, be prepared to fork out $159.95 from your pocket.

Money Maze makes spending hard

Money Maze makes spending hardThe Money Maze certainly makes spending money you’ve collected over a period of time pretty tough. Part money box, part puzzle, it comes with a slot on the outside for you to pop in your cash (coins or notes, it doesn’t really matter). The tricky part is getting your money out, as you are required to solve the Maze before it cracks open to help fund your latest purchases. Unfortunately, solving it isn’t as easy as it looks since it comes with plenty of dead ends and false leads that are guaranteed to frustrate and confound. As for me, I prefer to stick with the traditional porcelain piggy bank, where nothing but a satisfying whack of a hammer helps liberate my hard earned money only to end up in the hands of a nearby gadget store. To save money, you’ll need to invest money - which is why the Money Maze retails for £11.95.

Fetch a Bubble entertains dogsFancy getting some form of exercise for your pooch, only to find out that he hates chasing after frisbees? Fret not - there is always the Gazillion Fetch a Bubble Machine that will be able to keep your dog entertained for hours on end with a thorough workout. This is an automatic bubble blowing machine that requires half a dozen AA batteries to run, blowing out countless bubbles to keep Fido occupied while you go and about with your house chores. I wonder if this will be able to capture the attention of felines as well, since they love chasing butterflies and other flying insects. The Gazillion Fetch a Bubble Machine can entertain your dog for £14.95 today. Ah, if only mankind was so easily entertained.
