Plantronics have joined forces with crystal maker Swarovski to design a limited edition Bluetooth headset that is adorned with bling from the latter. The jeweled MIX Explorer 330 headset can be distinguised from its less glamorous counterparts by the dinstinct white color, while its standard brethren will come in black, gray, and pink colors. A $10 price point separates the normal and limited edition headset, where the latter retails for $59.95 when released this October. I noticed that many Bluetooth headset owners leave their headsets lying around unused after the novelty wears off, so dropping another tenner on this isn’t exactly the wisest investment one can make.

The folks at the FCC has just given their nod of approval to the Nokia 3500 Classic handset, which means we’ll be seeing this cellphone available sometime soon. This is purely an entry level handset, so don’t set your expectations too high if you want to pick this up. Good to see Nokia has included a higher resolution camera with a low end phone, and in this case the 3500 is equipped with a 2 megapixel camera. Other features include a microSD memory card slot, a miniUSB connector, Bluetooth and PictBridge connectivity, and a POP3/IMAP4 email client. It will retail for €135 minus taxes and subsidies. I suppose you could pack one of these into your college-bound kid when it is available for a no-frills yet reliable handset.

The folks over at the FCC has finally nodded in agreement to make the Nokia LD-4W Bluetooth GPS Module available to consumers who want to add GPS navigation onto their Bluetooth-enabled smartphones in the near future. This is the cheaper alternative, of course, unless you want to jump the gun and pick up the Nokia N95 in the first place. There is no word on pricing, but surely it won’t amount to the sky high price that the N95 commands. This LD-4W Bluetooth GPS module should hit the market pretty soon. Will you get this add-on, or do you prefer to invest in a dedicated GPS navigation system? I find that Mio’s offerings are pretty up to snuff, and their portable size is surely pocket friendly to everyone.

The arcade classic Arkanoid will soon make an appearance on the Nintendo DS platform, and each game will come with a paddle that plugs directly into the GBA cartridge slot on the DS. This old school remake from Taito will offer the paddle in four different colors to match various DS Lite colors, so woe to you if you have picked up one of the recently introduced shades. Guess you won’t be using much of the stylus if at all with Arkanoid DS. Game developers seem to be getting more and more creative when it comes to utilizing the GBA slot on the DS, just like how they did with the Face Training game that was launched in Japan recently.
