I wouldn’t go so far as to claim that the Cenio m1550 notebook has been touched by King Midas himself, since it comes in a gold metallic color and is not pure gold. Just in case gold is not your favorite color, fret not. Cenio is offering 15 other metallic colors that will hopefully suit your taste enough to warrant a purchase. Other than a wide color range to pick from, Cenio also allows you to customize your display or computers with your company’s very own logo. Electronics these days seem to let technology take a back seat while welcoming fashion sense with open arms, and this alone isn’t necessarily a bad thing unless manufacturers start to focus on aesthetics more than functionality.

Well, well, what do we have here? Yet another camera phone to tempt you in parting with your hard earned money. The cellphone in question is the Casio EXILIM W53CA that comes with a stunning 5.1 megapixel camera with autofocus, microSD memory card support, an electronic dictionary, and image stabilization technology to help you capture picture perfect shots even when you suffer from the occasional trembling of hands. Using the mouse for extended periods of time could result in RSI in the future, and the AimBlade intends to solve this problem by offering ergonomic support for strongly stressed ranges whenever you utilize the mouse. It works better than any chair armrest and can be adjusted to suit virtually any height. It retails for €24.95 and even comes with additional upholstery of the lower arm for added comfort. I suppose anything that helps gamers gain an edge over their opponents will be received with open arms, but the horde of white collar workers at offices will also find the AimBlade beneficial even when they’re not fragging but churning out reports instead.

[Always On - Stanford Summit] I was attending the Standford Summit Conference, and at the opening reception I met with Ranjith Kumaran, the VP Marketing of YouSendIt. In the file sharing arena there is a lot of competition and it is difficult to differentiate.YouSendit is doing a great job at focusing on the delivery of large files using the most popular communication medium: emails.Having a background in technology and design, I know how painful it is to transfer large digital files over FTP, and now I am always wondering if my 9.5 mb Powerpoint presentation will get through the recipient’s mailbox limitation. DropSend and Sendthisfile are the direct competitors of YouSendIt, and I will post a comparison review later. In the meantime you can take a look for yourself:YouSendIt Services page Drop Send prices page SendThisFile purchase plan page

This session was one of the most entertaining I ever attended in a tech conference, thanks to the moderator Guy Kawasaki. The panelists were quite humorous as well: Craig Sherman, CEO, Gaia Online; Gil Penchina, CEO, Wikia; Paul Martino, CEO, Aggregate Knowledge.Despite the frivolous ton of the conversation, the topic was very serious: online virtual world meets user generated content meets user behavior monetization… Check out the video Gaia Online won the 2007 AO 100 Top Company Award (photo above, iPhone camera quality, thanks Karsten).

The Haier WasH20 Washing Machine is pretty revolutionary since it doesn’t use any kind of washing detergent. Instead, it uses dihydrogen monoxide that is separated into both OH- and H+ ions that are powerful enough to remove stains and sterilize fabrics. I’m sure most soccer moms will still rely on the tried and tested methods of washing detergent and sunlight in order to produce a truly clean stack of laundry at the end of the day. Still, if you’re interested in filling up your home with the latest, you can pick this Haier WasH20 Washing Machine for under $1,000 in France. It comes with the ability to wash 6kg of dirty laundry within half an hour, and is available in half a dozen colors.

Once in a while we hear the news reporting an absent-minded parent who got distracted temporarily and left their kid locked inside the car which is parked under direct sunlight, resulting in mortality that tears at the heart and soul. The Child Minder system aims to prevent such a tragedy, sounding an alarm whenever its key fob is moved more than 10 feet away from the car should the child still remain strapped into the car seat. At $64.95, the price is worth every penny for every young parent. After all, prevention is better than cure, and to play a part in the death of your own child is certainly not something everybody can bear.

Looks like Lexibook has married the calculator, an optical mouse, and a numeric keypad to bring you an overkill in convergence technology. What do you call this - a monumelator? The full calculator features a LCD display, with a scroll wheel right on top when it is used as a mouse. While the idea sounds good, the entire device doesn’t look too appealing from the ergonomic front. This offering from Lexibook works great with Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms. Only notebook users need apply, as each of these retail for £14.95.

If you’re a big fan of the Three Stooges, this USB-powered Eye Massager is guaranteed to capture your attention. No idea on how they work, but I would say it is best to use this when you’re alone in a locked room as you definitely won’t want some kids running in at random intervals and accidentally gouge your eyeballs out in the process by knocking into you. You can pick them up in wholesale lots from Sundayo. Looks fun, but the practical aspect is certainly questionable. Would you be picking up one of these if it were available?

When you have kids running and cycling about the neighborhood, remember to take extra precaution when backing up your car onto the street. After all, tiny tots and toddlers aren’t exactly the tallest creatures in the world, and they certainly won’t be seen in your rear view camera while you’re reversing. The Sanyo Rear View Backup Camera aims to remedy that, using AirCam technology and digital processing to deliver accurate and natural looking images of what’s directly behind, doing away with the need for fish-eye mirrors fixed at the rear of your vehicle. Too bad this $299.99 camera system doesn’t come with an onboard display, so you’ll have to fork out extra for one.
