Samsung i85 shoots and entertains

Samsung i85 shoots and entertains

While most digital cameras perform their duties in an exemplary manner, how many of them will be able to keep you occupied while waiting for a bus? The Samsung i85 does not only capture images in 8 megapixel glory, it also boasts an integrated MP3 player and portable media player functions. Some of the specifications include a 3″ LCD touchscreen, a 5x optical zoom lens, and the Intelligent Face Recognition Technology for sharper looking portrait shots. 450MB of internal memory helps store the pre-loaded Tour Guide function that offers travel information that covers 2,600 regions across 30 countries. Sounds like a pretty feature-packed camera - having GPS connectivity would be icing on the cake. The Samsung i85 will retail for £229 when it is released at the end of next month.

Not only is it capable of taking the plunge into the bathtub with you, this 15.4″ portable wireless LCD TV is shock-proof as well. It comes with a transmitter box that can be hooked up to an external CCD camera, DVD player, and even cable TV. Maximum resolution stands at 1,280 x 800 pixels, while the NU Wireless TV has a contrast ratio of 600 to 1 and a brightness level of 520cd/m2. Pink color Taser hurts

Pink color Taser hurtsIt not only hurts whoever is on the receiving end of this Pink Taser, but it also pains the eyes of whoever looks at it. Everything else about this C2 self-defense device is the same, save for the pink exterior. It has a maximum working range of 15 feet, dispensing uip to 50,000 volts that are more than capable of penetrating up to two inches of clothing. I guess no matter how many tattoos you have on your body, even a fully matured Hell’s Angel won’t be able to withstand the power of the C2 Taser. Especially in pink. The next thing you know, future iterations will project rainbow colored flowers and the ilk.

Ambient Umbrella predicts the weather

Ambient Umbrella predicts the weatherCarrying an umbrella isn’t exactly the most manly thing to do, but when it pours cats and dogs, you’ll be the one having the last laugh. Ambient Devices have come up with the Ambient Umbrella which receives weather data from Accuweather.com, letting you know whether there is some rain up the horizon or not within the next 12 hours. Should rain be imminent, the handle will illuminate as a signal. The more intense the flashing is, the heavier the rain will be. Other than predict the weather, the Ambient Umbrella comes with a “gust buster” dual canopy design to prevent you from being dragged away by your umbrella in a storm. A single C-cell battery can last up to a year. The Ambient Umbrella retails for $125 and is more of an unncessary luxury than anything else.

Rockit! Mini MP3 player

Rockit! Mini MP3 playerBoth the first and second generation of iPod Shuffles have already spawned their fair share of clones, and the Rockit! Mini player is the latest in a long line. It doesn’t take the low-end route by offering a mere 1GB memory though, instead it boasts a minimum of 2GB and 4GB on the other end of the spectrum. Everything looks just about identical with Apple’s offering and is compatible with MP3, WAV, and WMA files although it won’t touch Ogg Vorbis or AAC with a 10-foot pole. The 2GB and 4GB versions will retail for a very affordable $50 and $80, and each purchase comes with a pair of headphones, a wall charger, and a USB cable. Do you mind picking up a clone as long as you can get your audio fix, or do you prefer to uphold brand loyalty and a righteous purchase?

Oxycheck measures oxygen levels

Oxycheck measures oxygen levelsBlood oxygen saturation levels, that is. The Oxycheck device does it in a painless and fast manner, measuring your blood oxygen saturation levels and heart pulse rate in an instant without resorting to invasive measures. All you need to do is place your finger underneath the Oxycheck, press the “On” button and wait for a few seconds for the reading to appear on its LCD display. Apparently larger versions of this device are already in use throughout thousands of hospitals, so why not save yourself money in the long run by picking this up for $139.95? RAZR V3xx pretty in pink

RAZR V3xx pretty in pink

The RAZR V3xx design is certainly on its last legs for a long time now, but that hasn’t stopped Motorola from making it available in pink. Available from AT&T, this pink version will probably appeal to females who want a stylish looking 3G HSDPA-capable handset, and it comes with an attractive $129.99 price tag, albeit with a two-year contract. If you’re not a power user, the older pink V3 can be yours for practically nothing, just as long as you sign a contract. If your girlfriend’s birthday is coming up and she’s been hankering after you for a new cellphone, perhaps this pink V3xx could satiate her? Colors don’t really do it for me though, but it is always nice to have a choice.

Robot Calculator makes counting fun

Robot Calculator makes counting funMake counting fun again (for kids anyway) with the Robot Calculator. Not only do you get easy-to-use buttons that are a joy to punch in numbers, while the LCD display makes it a snap to read whatever numbers that are on it. Should the 1.5V battery fail you, there is always the solar cell as a backup. The Robot Calculator retails for $8.99 and is suitable for young ones as you would look rather ridiculous using this behind your mahogany desk. Just make sure your calculations do not go beyond eight digits as that is the limit of what the LCD can display. Guess you can’t use this to broker a $100 million deal.
