JVC hybrid Everio GZ-HD3 camcorder
July 12th, 2007
JVC has just launched the Everio GZ-HD3 hybrid camcorder, utilizing not only the built-in 60GB hard drive to store your favorite moments in a digital format, but an SDHC card as well. The GZ-HD7 encodes video in MPEG 2, boasting up to 200x optical zoom courtesy of Konica Minolta. You won’t get full HD with the GZ-HD3, but instead have HDV at a resolution of 1,440 x 1,080. Unfortunately, the lack of AVCHD codec means you can only cram in up to 25 minutes’ worth of video onto a 4GB SDHC card. The JVC GZ-HD3 measures 82mm x 75mm x 15mm and weighs a mere 660 grams, retailing for approximately €890 when released in Japan.
