Largest solar power farm in the world

Folks living in California have one more thing to be proud of, and this time it is housing the largest solar power farm in the world. Built by Cleantech America LLC, this solar farm takes up a whopping 640 acres of space, 17 times larger than the current U.S. title holder in Arizona as well as 7 times larger than the previous world record holder in Germany. When completed, it is hoped that solar generated energy from this farm will be sold to a public agency that provides power to a dozen cities and a couple of counties in the surrounding area. That’s like, 21,000 homes which is no mean feat. When will developing countries take up the clarion call of solar energy as well, especially those lined up along the Equator?
