Mt. Tiki-Soki water volcano

Mt. Tiki-Soki water volcano Summer’s here, so what better way than to have a fun-filled day in the sun, shooting one another with water pistols? The Mt. Tiki-Soki water volcano takes a different approach as it is hooked up to a standard garden hose, letting its dual jets create a constant spray of water to stay cool under the scorching sun. It comes with a caveat though - whenever it’s eyes are open, that signals an impending eruption. Of course, you won’t have to run away from fast bearing lava but deal with a drenched body instead. This summer toy will be a great addition to any garden, retailing for $21.99 a pop.

Golf Cruiser eliminates strolls

Golf Cruiser eliminates strollsPlaying golf is supposed to be a healthy past time (not so for your wallet though) as you need to walk through all 18 holes, but looks like the Golf Cruiser has just taken out that beneficial side effect by offering you a single seated ride which offers all the creature comforts imaginable. Arrive at the next hole in style while your opponent and his caddy lug around their heavy golf bags. Features of the Golf Cruiser includes a detachable golf bag holder, a basket with drinks holder, and a built-in mud guard. It can withstand up to 250kg of weight, with the 1000 Watt 36V electric engine pulling its load admirably. Since golf is a game for the well heeled, the £1,800 shouldn’t shock those with deep pockets.

USB thumb drive mimics Wiimote

USB thumb drive mimics WiimoteUnfortunately, the mimicry ends at the design and not function. Ryan Kruska had a little bit more time on his hands compared to the rest of the world, using a toy from Wendy’s as the stylish cover for an existing USB flash drive. While the end result does not allow you to control anything via motion sensing, at the very least it will earn you respect from your gaming mates for being the hardcore Wii fan that you are. Do you have any interesting USB flash drive mods to share? Fire away in the comments.

Greenhouse KANA arrives in Japan

Greenhouse KANA arrives in Japan

As if Japan does not have enough MP3 players already, Greenhouse has just released yet another DAP known as KANA. Powered by just a single AAA battery, this means the KANA comes in an extremely portable form factor, measuring a mere 28.5mm x 83mm x 22mm while tipping the scales at 25 grams. Supported file formats include the standard MP3, WMA, and WMA DRM drill. It comes in white while carrying a paltry 512MB of internal memory without any expansion slots. Seriously, such little memory hardly warrants it’s €20 price tag. Sure hope the joystick will be able to withstand everyday use and not buckle under pressure easily like those found on Sony Ericsson cellphones.

Xbox 360 mod to prevent overheating

Xbox 360 mod to prevent overheatingNews of the Xbox 360 experiencing the dreaded Red Ring of Death is widespread and common knowledge, but that still hasn’t stopped people in North America from snapping up the console, thanks to the vast library of games and an engaging online multiplayer aspect. Still, great software won’t solve a hardware problem, which is why the XCM team designed a case mod that comes with a temperature gauge and a multicolor LED that changes color according to the current temperature. Needless to say, blue is better always, and when it turns yellow or red, you had better give the good old console a break. Hopefully this will be able to reduce the number of returned Xbox 360s. Microsoft, get on with the program already and address this problem soon!

Dynahand system for enhanced security

Dynahand system for enhanced securityDynahand is an interesting security system that requires the user to just recognize his/her own handwriting without the need to reserve yet more brain cells for another password. Most people don’t create strong passwords anyway, and reuse the same password for most of their other accounts. First, the user will have to input their own handwriting into the system, and subsequent log in attempts will show a variety of random digits in different handwriting styles, where only the legitimate user can answer correctly. Since it uses digits, it is much harder to anyone to ‘hack’ into the respective account via brute force as digits are harder to recognize than characters. When the researchers of the Dynahand system have sorted out the nitty gritty details, I hope to see this feature appear in more websites.

Solo Sunlight Sauna for the loner

Solo Sunlight Sauna for the loner

So you’re alone at home this summer with no one to share your life with. Instead of looking like a loser lounging beside the pool all by yourself, why not pick up the Solo Sunlight Sauna? This portable personal sauna (the word ‘portable’ is used liberally in this context) can be set up on any flat surface within minutes, where integrated infrared heaters run 100% of the time when hooked to a power source. At the very least, single hot chicks who catch you toting one of these will know you’re looking for companionship as well, and have a pretty hefty amount of dough stashed away in the bank in order to own one of these.

Moneual 902 HTPC with touchscreen

Moneual 902 HTPC with touchscreenAre all home theater PCs (HTPCs) alike? The answer is no, and this can be proven by the Moneual 902 HTPC. This impressive computer comes with a 7″ touchscreen on its chassis - something most other manufacturers do no offer. This touchscreen lets you navigate through the user interface with ease, but I think most couch potatoes would prefer to use the remote control from a distance instead. Still, it is a nice touch that makes the 902 stand apart from the rest. Additional features include a high end video card, 2GB of RAM, a HDTV tuner, a wireless keyboard, and a speedy Intel Core 2 Duo 6700 processor - all running on Windows Vista. Sounds good? Brace yourself, for the Moneual 902 HTPC retails for $5,000.

USB-powered clothing hit the streets

USB-powered clothing hit the streets

Understandably, summer is the hottest time of the year, so it is time to pile up on essentials such as deodorant -or is it? This USB-powered clothing says otherwise, boasting a couple of fans located behind the shirt that sucks air in from outside while cooling you down, albeit at the price of making you look like a total dork. Well, at least this keeps offensive body odor at a minimum, considering how much more one sweats during summer. Should there be no USB power available within the vicinity, you can always pop in some batteries to keep it going. I think only the Japanese are adventurous enough to try these on in public - what about you? Each of these USB-powered clothing retail for $159.
