Mobile TV beyond the cell phone: let’s start sharing says Texas Instruments (video)

At the Churchill Club event last week on the future of the Mobile TV market, Yoram Solomon (picture) demoed a cell phone that was playing a movie through a projector. However, Texas Instruments’ marketing director of Mobile Connectivity Solutions didn’t have the actual cell phone with the embedded DLP projector that the company showed last March at CTIA Wireless but instead was using an external Bluetooth projector. Although this looks suspicious to me, still the demo was cool.Video and more on UberPulse.

HP’s 2007 commercial notebook line is too complex (video)

Last week, friendly HP product manager Brian Allen explained the new naming for HP’s 2007 line of commercial notebooks. The good news is that the Palo Alto company reduced its number of platforms from 9 to 3 this year: the 2000 series (ultra portable, sub 4lbs), 6000 series (balanced mobility, 4.5-6lbs) and 8000 series (performance systems, 6-7.5 lbs)… The bad news is that it’s still too complex to choose, with 3 platforms and 4 different levels of features, etc… if you don’t believe me… watch Allen’s video on our sister site UberPulse.

Flash Player With Speaker

Aiwa AW690 Originally uploaded by thegadgetguy. The Aiwa AW60 flash player includes a micro-speaker among its features, but to save space it was incorporated into the cap that goes over the USB plug. Sure, it probably sounds like crap, but at least it’s there if you need it. I’d guess it’s more useful for playing voice recordings than Jay-Z. There’s only one other player with something similiar, the M-Bird XT-21. The 4-color OLED screen is nice addition but the controls look a little simplistic to be much good for navigation. Other features include FM radio, line-in recording, 128mb-1gb capacity. No pricing or release date. (Via dapreview)

In honor of the NCAA Tournament, here’s a little flash game that mimicks something that we have all done from time to time - shoot hoops with crumpled up pieces of paper. Add an oscillating office fan to the mix and adjust your shots accordingly. This should be good for killing a bunch of time this week. As always, click on the headline for link.

Parking meter calls for more coins

Parking meter calls for more coins

Parking meters can be a real pain, especially when you’re in the 43rd floor of an office building with only one more minute to fill up your car’s parking meter with more coins before being slapped with a fine. Folks in Vancouver and Niagara Falls are luckier as they have received parking meters that actually alerts you via your cellphone before it runs out of cash, giving you ample time to literally buy time by dropping more coins. Powered by the sun itself, these parking meters even offer you the option to pay your fine on the spot. Talk about efficient!

Chew On This (Or I Must, I Must, I Must Improve My Bust)

Bust Up Gum Originally uploaded by thegadgetguy. Some things you just can’t make up. And being the magnanimous guy that I am, I consider this post a public service announcement. From the article:”A chewing gum produced by a Japanese company can say the manufactures help enhance the size, shape and tone of the breasts. The gum B2Up is proving to be a big hit say Bust-Up gum, when chewed three or four times a day, the chewy also improves circulation, reduces stress and battles ageing. B2Up contains the plant extract, Pueraria mirifica and works by slowly releasing the compounds it contains. This they say helps to keep the muscle tissue in good order, Pueraria mirifica, also known as Kwao Krua, is a species found in Thailand and Burma, and has been used by indigenous hill tribe people as a traditional medicine for generations. The plant’s tubers contain a number of chemicals called phytoestrogens, including miroestrol and deoxymiroestrol, these natural compounds which create the effects of the female sex hormone oestrogen, as they are very close in chemical structure to oestradiol, the main human oestrogen. B2Up says that it is the effect of these two chemicals, coupled with a third phytooestrogen isoflavone, which makes its gum work.”Feel free to insert your own straight line in the comments section.
