Smoking indoors is being banned just about everywhere. Which means you’ve got to head outside to light up. And if you live in a cold climate, well, you’re screwed. But wait. Suck UK has come out with the Smoking Mittens. The have a convenient gromet that allows you to smoke your cigarette right through the mitten. You’ll never have to light up with cold hands again. Pretty cool huh. Almost as cool as my jacket that comes lined with cancer.

Grocery shopping is definitely a chore for busy people, but it is an essential one unless you don’t mind eating out every single day. Ikan aims to ease your burden by keeping track of groceries that you need on the next trip to the store. All you need to do is scan the products as you finish them into Ikan, and it will automatically update information on your online shopping cart. This is a great way to ensure that you won’t forget the essential items the next time round, although it is pretty hard to beat the traditional notepad-and-pencil combo. I just hope that we’ll use the time saved from inefficient grocery shopping to good use instead of spending it frivolously on trivial pursuits.

While at first glance you might think your plasma and LCD TV is floating in mid-air, a closer look will reveal the Schroers AT&T Schroers glass stand that comes across as transparent in certain cases. Capable of handling plasma or LCD TVs that are up to 70 kg in weight, each of these stands come with a rotary base that swivels along a ring of steel bearings, enabling you to get the best picture possible no matter which part of the room you’re seated at. Too bad the price of each stand could equal or cost more than your plasma TV itself, ranging from $5,900 to $6,600 depending on the configuration. Only those with deep pockets need apply.

LG and Sprint have joined forces to unleash the MUZIQ handset that comes with enough built-in memory to store up to 4,000 songs, and an FM transmitter that lets you listen to your favorite tunes on a far superior audio system within a 10 foot radius. The MUZIQ also supports SD cards that are up to 4GB in size, giving you more bang for your buck. Other features include POP3 email support, a 1.3 megapixel camera with flash and video recording capability, and Bluetooth & EV-DO connectivity. Sounds like they’re trying their best to rain on AT&T’s iPhone parade, but I guess it will hardly cause a dent. The MUZIQ will be available from Sprint this July 15th onwards for $99 with a two-year contract.

Welcome to a world of hurt with the Ultimate Paintball Gun, or should I say, Painball Gun. This custom-made weapon of mass destruction looks extremely mean, featuring two barrels on each hand, with a joystick that triggers each side. Unfortunately, the pellet storage case doesn’t look big enough to last you many rounds, making you easy pickings once you’ve run out of pellets. If a game of paintball was based on the Team Fortress hierarchy, using the Ultimate Paintball Gun would place you in the position of the Heavy Weapons Dude. Medic! Where are you?

Humidifiers are pretty boring things to look at, or are they? The ±0 (a design house from Japan) humidifier comes in the shape of a donut, giving you a truly unique piece of home accessory. Measuring a compact 12″ in diameter, this humidifier filters water and will probably be a firm favorite at your local precinct. It comes with an added mist setting, giving you double the time before a refill is required. Now you can add more moisture into the air without having one butt ugly device hanging around your cubicle. Choose from pink, blue, beige, brown, and white colors.

Ever wondered how a 360 degree 3D display looks like? Wonder no more, as researchers from the University of Tokyo have successfully developed a 360 degree 3D video environment that does away with the need to wear those pesky 3D glasses. Being the first of its kind in the world, this cylindrical display uses more than 50,000 LEDs, all lined up in columns to achieve its purpose. The display rotates around your head at 1.6 revolutions per second, with the LEDs displaying different images to each eye in order to conjure an illusion of a 3D image, thanks to the physics phenomenon known as “binocular parallax”. Sounds pretty deep - I wonder when will arcades get games which involve such technology.

HP has just rolled out the spanking new Photosmart R937 digital camera, boasting a generous 3.6″ touchscreen display while capturing images in 8 megapixel resolution. The R937 truly takes a step up from regular digital cameras, enabling users to tag images with Vista-compatible tags in order to simplify the search process on a computer. That’s certainly handy considering how we tend to copy our photos over to the computer without worrying about how to archive it properly. Other features include automatic red-eye fix, pet-eye fix, and slimming functions, anti-shake technology, 3x optical zoom, 8x digital zoom, and a host of on-board editing options in addition to 32MB of internal memory. The HP R937 will be released this August for $299.99 a pop.

Sony products have always looked good, and the C3 optical mouse range is no different. They don’t look to ergonomic though, coming in a slightly rectangular shape. You can pick the C3 from black, white, green & white, and pink & orange colors. The M10 mouse is more businesslike, available in blue, grey, or black colors. Both the C3 and M10 feature an 800 dpi optical sensor, a couple of buttons, and a scroll-wheel. The M10 is more suited to be a notebook mouse since it comes with grooves along the edge to wrap your USB cord around. Other than its looks, they’re pretty much ordinary mice and gets the job done for office work - gamers will have to look elsewhere.

I just love optical illusions, and the LED Bonsai Tree is one device that lives up to my expectations. It utilizes custom circuits and a whole bunch of LED lights which spin in order to give you the optical illusion of a Bonsai tree. I must say that the effect is much less pronounced during the day though, as it would probably fare way better when the lights are turned off. Some people still won’t get it and will insist that it just looks like a bunch of spinning LEDs no matter how they look at it. I’m almost inclined to agree with them from certain angles though. This makes an interesting desktop accessory, but too bad it is a custom built product.
