Window shopping takes on a whole new meaning with Polo Ralph Lauren’s store window being turned into a virtual store, letting you shop with your fingertips. While it retains the regular store window look by showing what’s available in store, the display enables you to shop regardless of whether it is day or night, and you don’t have to join the mad rush before the store closes. Orders made will be shipped to your home, but if you haven’t decided yet, you can always save those orders first and forward it to your email. This is pretty neat, and certainly goes a whole lot further in keeping the capitalist idea going strong as spending is encouraged no matter what time of the day it is.

Solar power has been commended for its green qualities, and has since made enough strides to be used in clothes. Italian designer Zegna has come up with the ZegnaSport Solar Jacket to keep your electronic devices such as an iPod and cellphone juiced up thanks to the integrated solar cells fitted into the neoprene collar with electricity generated through conducting textile cables to a diminutive li-ion storage battery. It takes approximately eight hours to charge the battery, but those 8 hours translate to just 4 hours of juice for your phone. The ZegnaSport Solar Jacket is tipped to be released as part of Zegna’s 2008 summer collection - so don’t expect it to be on the affordable end of things.

Looks like everyone is trying to make some money of a USB device these days, and since you can never have enough USB ports, what better way than to release a multi-functional USB hub that comes complete with a clock and letter opener functions? Not only do you get an extra four USB ports with this device, you also get to sift through piles of snail mail each day in an orderly manner instead of tearing those envelopes apart like a ravaging beast. The alarm clock function comes in handy, letting you know when it is time to head home after a tough day at the office, but I’m pretty sure you don’t need an alarm clock to tell you that. Powered by a trio of AA batteries, there is no word on pricing and availability of this multi-purpose USB hub.

Just like how Sauron had the all-seeing eye, the Sportscope acts as such for bosses within offices that are nothing but cubicle farms. This periscope gives you up to 5x magnification, letting you have a panoramic view of what’s going on all around without the subjects noticing that they’re being watched. The Sportscope has a height range between 15″ to 22″ and offers a 8.5 degrees field of view, but I suspect you will have better luck with CCTVs instead of something as obvious as this. The Sportscope kit retails for $60 a pop and consists of the Sportscope itself, a removable handle, a removable belt clip, and a carrying bag.

Digital Cowboy has just released a pair of glasses that play MP3 tracks, keeping you entertained while you’re out frolicking in the sun. MP3 isn’t the only format this pair of glasses juggles with though, since it does WMA as well. The bit rates supported range from 64kbps to 320kbps, and it comes with 1GB of internal memory. I wonder why the manufacturers could not throw in a microSD memory card slot since those are pretty commonplace these days. At €30 a pop, this pair of MP3 glasses sure could not be released in a more timelier manner considering how sunny summers are.

Had a tough day at the office? Why not relieve some of that stress with the USB Interactive Aquarium from Brando? Powered by any available USB port, this aquarium comes complete with a couple of fish and hinged tails that make some extremely lifelike movement. You can also feed and play with them via an interactive menu, and best of all is, there is no need to mess around with water. The USB Interactive Aquarium retails for $23 a pop. I don’t know about you, but I prefer to see my fish real and alive instead of being some conjured digital avatars.

iLuv certainly knows how to capture the attention of interested parties - just take a look at this wine glass concept docking speaker. It features curves in all the right places, and the design apparently features the same kind of touchscreen functionality that you find on LG’s Chocolate handset. It also features a pretty nifty display that shows the equalizer , time, and name of current track. Since it is just a concept, I suppose much more market research needs to be done before it ever makes it to the manufacturing line.

Too much work piling up at the office? Is the boss getting on your nerves? If you have answered in the affirmative, what better way to relieve some stress than to go on a holiday far away on a tropical island? Unfortunately, not everyone can just take off at their own whim and fancy, which is why there will always be novelty peripherals such as the USB Panic Button. This device is hooked up to your computer via USB, and comes with just one big, fat, red button with the word “PANIC” emblazoned across. Pressing it will activate one of three different screen effects (an Excel worksheet, a simulated bomb explosion, or a boss punch-out), giving you a moment’s relief before you return to reality. The USB Panic Button is available from Brando for $17 a pop.
