MPIO launches MG100

MPIO launches MG100

MPIO has just released the MG100 portable media player that doesn’t look that bad, featuring a brushed aluminum case that works great against picking up nasty fingerprints. A 4GB version is now available, expanding upon the 1GB and 2GB models that are currently available. Additional features include a 262k color display, an integrated FM tuner, MP3 and WMA support, and compatibility with the .MTV video format, all crammed into a featherlight body of 42 grams. Guess that means you will have to spend a good chunk of your time converting all video files into the MTV format. Strange choice, that. Pricing details have yet to be confirmed.

Jewelry for geeks

Jewelry for geeks

Folklore shows that geeks often pay little attention to dressing themselves up for an occasion, but with a geeky slant to it, things might just change. Pixel Jewelry offers a real hoot, making your body look as though it appears in full High Definition resolution. I doubt that thieves will find the pixel necklace appealing since everything looks blocky (just like the 8-bit Tie), but this makes it all the more desirable as you can identify a geek who is not proud to come out of the closet.

Nokia 6267 unveiled

Nokia 6267 unveiled

Nokia has just lifted tabs on its 6267 cellphone that aims to bring back simplicity into handsets, considering the amount of buttons that most phones come with today. The 6267 comes with a dedicated MP3 player for ease-of-use, 3G connectivity for uber-fast Internet browsing, video calls, and downloads, support for up to 4GB of expandable memory, a 2 megapixel camera with flash and 8x digital zoom, and a battery that cranks out 6.5 hours of talk time and 12.5 days of standby time. Of course, I rarely see phones last that long with everyday use, so a more realistic number would be three days of normal usage before the 6267 seeks out an oasis of power outlets. Interested parties can pick up the clamshell Nokia 6267 for 240 Euros before taxes and subsidies.

HSDPA technology is utilized for blazing fast downloads and Internet browsing, although you can’t really do that much with such a small screen . Expect to fork out 260 Euros before taxes and subsidies when the Nokia 6121 is released.

You ought to be able to find Apple’s Bluetooth headset up for sale alongside the Apple iPhone when the latter is launched later this month, thanks to the stamp of approval from the FCC. I wonder why Apple did not flex any marketing muscle to promote this pen cap-like device since it was first introduced earlier this January with the iPhone announcement. While pricing details are unavailable, it ought to come with a slight premium over non-Apple products. The design is extremely simple in nature, coming in the same black color that matches the iPhone.
