Tooks beanies have headphones

Tooks beanies have headphones

Wearing a beanie is a hit-or-miss fashion statement, depending on the size of your head and face style. Tooks just unveiled its new beanies that come with integrated removable headphones. I know, integrated and removable hardly go hand in hand, but in this case it means you can store a pair of headphones inside discreetly, removing them only when you send the beanie for a wash. You can choose from black, navy blue, gray, brown, red, or pink colors for $24.99 a pop. Alternatively, you can pick up the headphones separately from the beanie for $12.50 each. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal, eh? Make your own fashion statement today by getting a Tooks beanie.

Awesome Parallel Parking

This is a 3 mintue video of an Italian woman trying demonstrating some amazing parking skills, ah, or lack thereof. The car clearly is NOT going to fit in the space, but she refused to give up. Perhaps she needs one of those self-parking Lexus’ or a tape measure and driving lessons.

Axion AXN-9701 begins shipping

Axion AXN-9701 begins shippingAxion has begun to ship its AXN-9701 widescreen LCD digital photo frame that displays pictures at a maximum resolution of 480 x 234 pixels (nothing much to shout about here), featuring a brightness control that provides an optimal viewing experience under any lighting condition. Of course, it would have been better if Axion included a dynamic brightness control, but that could be asking too much. The internal memory can store a mere 15 images (considering the resolution stated, that’s pretty measly), but you can always throw in a 2GB memory card for a few years’ worth of digital photos via its memory card slot. The AXN-9701 also supports USB flash drives via a direct USB connection.

HomeStar miniaturized for cellphones

HomeStar miniaturized for cellphones

The HomeStar home planetarium from Sega Toys was all the rage last year, disappearing off retail shelves as fast as they appeared. Strap-Ya must have decided there is still room to expand upon this market, coming up with a miniaturized version that can be used as a cellphone charm or keychain. It retails for a mere $7 and runs off a CR1220 battery. The power switch is located on the side, and peeking into the lens after turning it on will let you escape into a world of stars even though the sun is beating down on you in real life. Not too sure how this is going to be more entertaining than a DS when commuting, but it makes a great gift idea.

Cocoon blossoms from O2

Cocoon blossoms from O2

O2 of Europe will be entering the lucrative music cellphone market by unveiling the Cocoon - a handset that derived its name from the all-white and completely rounded body that stores some additional features. These features include LEDs below the outer lid that light up during incoming calls, doubling up as a unique display which caters to the handset’s clock radio function whenever it is plugged into its custom dock. Additional specifications include a 2 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, 3G connectivity, a microSD memory card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The lack of Bluetooth is certainly disturbing since that’s almost a given in most handsets today. The O2 Cocoon is expected to retail for £300 in U.K.

R2-D2 adds speaker function to desk

R2-D2 adds speaker function to deskJust when you thought that R2-D2 was the little droid that does everything, National Console Support Inc. surprises everyone by releasing a couple of R2-D2s that function as desktop computer speakers. Each of them measure 12cm in height and will come in red or blue colors. Flipping up the head domes will unveil a set of speakers, but don’t expect fantastic sound from a $40 pair of speakers. You can hook it up to a nearby audio source via its 3.5mm audio cable. I believe this offering remains strictly for those who are die hard Star Wars fans only. The R2-D2 speakers will arrive in all intergalactic stores when December 2007 rolls around.

KUKA KR 1000 strongest in the world

KUKA KR 1000 strongest in the worldFor a robot, that is. KUKA Robotics from Germany recently unveiled the KR 1000 titan 6-axis robot that comes with a grand total of 9 motors that work together to deliver the power of a mid-sized car, which means it can handle a payload capacity of one ton. The KR 1000 has a reach of up to 3.2 meters and can withstand a static torque of 60,000 newton meters (Nm). Ideally, the Titan can be used to briddge distances of up to 6.5 meters to handle large objects such as engine blocks, stone, glass, steel sections, and concrete parts precisely. I definitely wouldn’t want to have an arm wrestling match with this robot.

Orange harnesses wind to power charger

Orange harnesses wind to power chargerCellular network operator Orange will be showcasing its wind-powered cellphone charger next week, where the prototype will be able to harness the power of the wind in order to provide some much needed juice to exhausted batteries that are often a common occurence among cellphones these days. Of course, I suspect this will be more of a hit in Holland than anywhere else. Should there be no wind blowing my way at that point in time, am I supposed to actually huff and puff my way through a phone call? The prototype weighs 150g and can be mounted on the day, generating and storing power as long as there is some wind.

Seidio unveils new battery for Treo 755

Seidio unveils new battery for Treo 755Owners of the Treo 755 who think that this smartphone lacks nothing but a longer battery life would be pleased to know that Seidio has unveiled the new 3200mAh Super Extended Life Battery. This battery takes over the position of your current battery and simultaneously offers double the power compared to the original. This makes it useful for those who are often out of the office and frequent travelers, requiring several days of use before recharging. The only drawback would be a slight increase in weight as well as an additional bulge which measures 4 to 5mm thicker. I guess until the day fuel cell batteries are the norm in everyday devices, we will have to settle for phat batteries.

Emotional Social Intelligence device

Emotional Social Intelligence device

They say that verbal communication sends only part of a message across, while most of our talking is done via body language. The Emotional Social Intelligence Prosthetic is one device that helps even the most clueless individual decipher the nuances of body language, thanks to intelligent software programmed by MIT grad student Rana El Kaliouby. This software interprets emotions based on body language and facial expressions which are captured via a wearable computer/video camera combination. Do you think the police and authorities will be able to use this invention to help in their investigations when it comes to serious crime cases?
