Haier L47A18 sends stills to printer

Haier L47A18 sends stills to printerVCRs were an important factor for those interested in cooking as they had to record all the ingredients and instructions shown on TV for reference, since real-time programming did not allow anyone to write down everything in a flash. Haier is late to the party with a TV that boasts a printer port, enabling you to print whatever you see on the TV directly onto a piece of paper. Too bad this feature is pretty redundant considering how the Internet has a wealth of information no TV could ever provide. Still, the Haier L47A18 is a formidable full HD television, boasting dual HDMI, two USB 2.0 ports, and a memory card reader. No release date is known, although the L47A18 will retail in the region of $2,750.

Samsung has a spanking new 22″ widescreen monitor up its sleeves in the form of the SyncMaster 225UW. This monitor was especially built for those who perform lots of video conferencing at the workplace since it comes with a lovely 2 megapixel webcam, speakers, and a dual-microphone. Motorola Q line gets overhauled

Motorola Q line gets overhauledThe Motorola Q promised a whole lot, but it failed to deliver when the time came for it to get onstage. Motorola aims to make amends by releasing a couple of new Q-based handsets in the form of the Q8 and Q9. The Q8 remains the same as the original Q, save that it caters to the GSM market now. The Q9 is totally new, running on Windows Mobile 6.0 and boasting a dual HSDPA/UMTS engine which gives you high speed mobile Internet connectivity. In addition, the Q9 also comes with 256MB of on-board memory, a microSD memory card slot, Bluetooth with A2DP support, and a 2 megapixel camera with 8x zoom and video capture capability. There is no word on when it will be available worldwide though, nor how much it will cost.

Tablet PC design concept

Tablet PC design concept

Here are more Tablet PC design concepts than you can shake a stylus at. Looks pretty rugged to me, and the fold out keyboard at the bottom adds another dimension when it comes to sending e-mails as well as composing long official letters at work. The foldable color display shouldn’t be too far off in the future considering how technology has advanced in the world of electronic paper. Definitely looks sweet to the eye - unfortunately these remain but a dream until a manufacturer picks up the gauntlet.

New display technology from Toshiba

New display technology from Toshiba

Toshiba and Matsushita have both come together and their efforts have given birth to the Toshiba Matsushita Display (how creative). While it might not be the largest display in the world nor even come close in terms of size and features, this tiny little 4.3″ screen uses Optical Compensated Bend technology. I suppose that offers superior visual quality and clarity when compared to the average flat screen technology. A resolution of 480 x 272 pixels and a brightness level of 400cd/m2 rounds off the list of features.

Bamboo graphics tablet from Wacom

Bamboo graphics tablet from Wacom

Wacom, renowned for their line of graphics tablets, have unveiled the Wacom Bamboo comes in a stunning design despite packaging most of the same technology found in other Wacom tablets. Retailing for less than $150 when released before Spring is over, the Wacom Bamboo features 512 levels of pressure, a quartet of hot keys, a zoom/scroll ring for navigation purposes, handwriting recognition capabilities, and even a gesture-based input that is compatible with certain applications. The drawing surface measures 4″ x 6″, making it an ideal fit on any desktop. I must say though, the Wacom Bamboo certainly gets my blood flowing with its sleek looks.

HP unveils e-book reader

HP unveils e-book reader

HP has jumped into the e-book reader game by unveiling its very own e-book reader at the HP Mobility Summit 2007 in China recently. This remains very much a concept device at the moment, boasting an intuitive interface where you turn pages within the e-book just like how it is done with a real book. This concept device also synchronizes with Snapfish, HP’s very own online photo website, for you to enjoy your favorite photos anywhere. It looks set to be released commercially in the future considering how HP executives have revealed that the company is doing more research while developing dedicated software for it. Here’s to sooner rather than later.

Fujitsu to solve notebook storage woes

Fujitsu to solve notebook storage woes

Carrying around an external hard drive might be the most common and convenient solution you employ when it comes to expanding storage space on your notebook, but Fujitsu thought otherwise by developing a new hard drive that manages to cram in 250GB of storage space into a tiny 2.5″ drive. This is made possible thanks to the perpendicular writing technology that’s found on Seagate’s 750GB hard drive. Known as the MHY2250BH series, these new hard drives will be available at retail stores this Q2. The storage space comes at a sacrifice of speed, as it spins at 5400 rpm. Thankfully, that also helps keep the noise levels down to a mere 24 decibels. More specifications are available after the jump.

• Capacity: 40GB/60GB/80GB/100GB/120GB/160GB/200GB/250GB• Rotational Speed: 5400RPM• Interface: SATA 1.5Gb/sec (Rev 2.5) • Buffer to Host Transfer Rate: 150MB/sec max.• Read/Write Seek Time: 12/14ms typ. • Track to Track Seek Time: 1.5ms typ. • Idle Power Consumption: 0.6W typ. (Best in Class) • Standby/Sleep Power Consumption: 0.13W typ. (Best in Class) • Acoustic (Idle): 2.4 bels typ. • Operating Shock: 325G (2ms)

Wassup speaker too little, too late

Wassup speaker too little, too lateB2 has recently dropped news on its new speaker line known as the Wassup. Strange how they’re a few years late to the Wassup party that reached giddy heights with the Bud ads, and not only that, the speaker design itself bears a striking resemblance to a Pokemon of some kind. Perhaps the designer was a Pokemon nut who loved his Bud? At $25 a pop, be prepared to accept mediocre performance that ranks equal to those craptastic, no-brand speakers you find in wholesale websites all across the Net.
