Anti-bacterial shirt costs a bomb

Anti-bacterial shirt costs a bombAlthough there are a number of keyboards and mice in the market that come with an anti-bacterial coating, none of them are as expensive as this Anti-bacterial Shirt that costs approximately $10,000 for a yard of fabric, no thanks to the amount of silver nanoparticles embedded within. This two-toned gold dress and metallic denim jacket was recently featured at the Cornell Design League fashion show and infused with anti-bacterial qualities to cater for those who are paranoid about catching a bug while outside. Pretty pointless and an exercise in waste if you ask me as wearing this won’t lessen the chances of you picking up a cold anyway.

Khet game teases your brain

Khet game teases your brain

If you’re sick and tired of chess being the only boardgame in your home, perhaps checking out Khet would be a good idea. Touted to be the first board game that incorporates laser technology, Khet requires you to maneuver your pieces around the board while trying to ‘fire’ a laser from your corner and striking your opponent’s Pharaoh piece. With four different types of pieces available (Sacred Pharaoh, Obelisk, Pyramid, and Djed column), there is more than enough depth of strategy to keep you occupied for a long time to come. Powered by a quartet of AAA batteries, Khet retails for $63.

Skanstik pocket scanner concept

Skanstik pocket scanner concept

Anyone who has gone on a road trip before will definitely know how keeping track of small pieces of paper can be quite a task as they seem to have a life of their own. The Skanstik pocket scanner concept offers a viable solution to road warriors, enabling them to record scanned information into it’s internal memory that can be uploaded to a computer for future reference. This is great since you don’t need to lug a computer around in the first place during those business meetings, but instead scan in all those cards and receipts on-the-fly. Too bad the Skanstik is currently a concept, waiting for hardware manufacturers to birth it into the marketplace.

Laser Dance Matrix for precision

Laser Dance Matrix for precisionThose who have indulged in Dance Dance Revolution on the home consoles will know how easy it is to slip on those mats provided as you scramble your legs to hit the right moves at the right time, but the Laser Dance Matrix offers not much room for error as it works with lasers. Compatible with any game that supports a USB input, the Laser Dance Matrix is deadly accurate so if you lose in your umpteenth round of DDR, you have nobody to blame but yourself and your poor body co-ordination.

miLites add dazzle to your iPod nano

miLites add dazzle to your iPod nanoIf you think that your iPod nano is just too plain to be seen in broad daylight by the rest, perhaps getting it the miLite from B2 will enable your nano to get more exposure in public. This pretty case lights up all over for a truly psychedelic experience, although there would be certain quarters who would call this a gaudy gimmick. At the moment, miLites are only available for the first generation of iPod nanos, but B2 has already pledged to make additional sizes in the near future. At $19.98 a pop, the miLite is definitely one of the brighter ideas to enhance your iPod nano’s looks.

Attack of the RC Tarantulas

Attack of the RC TarantulasThe Uncle Milton RC Tarantula looks just like the real thing - it scurries, it crawls, and even comes with a furry texture that will definitely scare the living daylights out of any arachnophobes. Unfortunately, the RC Tarantula’s game is up the moment one notices it can only crawl on flat surfaces. Woe to its owner should mother lay the smack down on this $24.95 piece of machinery only to discover that screws and bolts hold it up together instead of sinew and other gooey stuff that a tarantula is made of.

Supersonic Portable boom box

Supersonic Portable boom box

With the deluge of portable media players out there these days, it is surprising to see the Supersonic Portable boom box hit one back for an old school method of enjoying one’s music. What makes the Supersonic Portable boom box hold its own would be the inclusion of a color TV and a 5″ display to accompany the integrated AM/FM radio and DVD player with CD support. You summer will be a much more interesting one with this 14″ x 8″ x 10″ Supersonic Portable boom box that retails for approximately $180. Each purchase comes with AC and DC car adapters in addition to headphone and external antenna jacks, a built-in handle, and LED display.

All-in-one DVD projector

All-in-one DVD projector

Why bother hooking up your DVD player to a projector when you can settle for yet another convergence device in the form of the DY-PJ001H All-in-One DVD projector? From the top, it looks like any other DVD player, but when you look at it from any other angle, the DY-PJ001H is rather bloated in size. No widescreen ratio is supported though, featuring only an aspect ratio of 4:3 at a resolution of 800 x 600. Connectivity options include audio input and VGA-for-PC. Pricing details are unavailable. I suppose if it’s affordable enough it would make a great living room entertainer, although I’d do something about the garish red color.
